BTOs prices also have a component pegged to the re-sale HDB prices...

I will provide a real case scenario for you:
My aunt and uncle( both Singaporeans) bought a bto in yishun, after grant it is around 260 k.
Resale they sold, in yishun as well, around 400 plus k, a 20 years old house convert into a new house with nett gain of 100 over k.

Please show proof.

I know of PRs who were housewives and able to renew their PR-ship every five year....from age 25 to age 55.....

If they stay in Singapore for many years with whole family on singapore, definitely can. They are dependent pr.

What I mean was those people who applied pr on their own.

No lah, I see this thread a lot of people dissatisfies pr, so I just wanna voice out new rules implemented by government.

I am very happy with singapore. Coz without singapore, it is kind of difficult to achieve what I am able to achieve nowadays. Sg government provides the platform. It is a place that really reward people that work really hard....

Good good really melts my heart knowing that you are happy and privilege to be here. Oh yes great platform indeed like those springboard in the swimming pool.

you must have really achieve alot benefiting from all these. Good good. Singapore thank you for your contribution

I understand your viewpoint. I have two comments.

One: This question is not for me, it is for my baby. Right now he is not of an age at which he can understand that I am accepting PR for him on his behalf. Therefore I want to fully understand what liabilities I AM PLACING ON HIM.

If the SG government were to tell me, for instance, that my accepting PR would mean I have to serve NS then as an adult I can make that decision. But for my baby it would be HIS TIME AND FREEDOMS that I have forsaken. So I must ask the question. To not ask is stupid!

Two: To live in a country and pay taxes sounds fair and right to me. I have no problems doing this. However NS is one step further. It is to defend that country with your life - presumably against some foreign power. Now there are two issues here:

a. A citizen would NATURALLY WANT to defend his or her country against foreign invaders as said country would probably comprise his family, his properties, his livelihood. NS for citizens makes sense because it is a collective approach to the individual natural want. But would a PR have that same natural want? A PR may have much of his family still in his natural land. What incentive does he have to defend, with his life, a foreign land?

b. If foreign invaders were from the same country as a PR then would a PR do his best to defend his country from the foreign invader?

then go back to your natural land. want enjoy benefit but dont want serve the country you are reaping the benefits from. wtf

Should pr be allowed to apply bto too?
Btw TS fuxck back to your ********. We r full!

Haha, in contrast to what you think, I agree with this rule, ie:

PR cannot apply BTOz

I always think that subsidized housing is a citizenship right!

Yes, you hear this from me, a PR.

Try telling those BTO owner not to be greedy. Stop selling HDB with sky-high price to foreigners as it causes hardship to their fellow citizens. See if they give f*ck. Just another case of sinkie pwn sinkie

Why not? Since you can maximize the profit. Who would want to go against $$ in the pocket right? PR

NS is a liability because ICA calls it a liability. Please search ICA's webpage and look up NS.

To reemphasize once again. It is not my intention to renege or default on my obligations. I only wish to understand the liabilities involved and comply with the laws of the land.

Your obligation is to teach your son what is gratidue and make sure he practise it.

Your obligation is to teach your son what is being fair. Either you "pay first and consume later" or "consume first but remember to pay later".

You better tell HDB to confiscate their property. PR not allowed to rent out their HDB.

Ern.... For that Malaysian couple part.... I just wanna say, you can also do the same thing if you want. Provided you can everyday go back jb and jam at the causeway. Singaporeans can buy properties in jb(condos at least 500 k ringgit up).

Pino colleagues I not sure how they do it. Maybe you can enlighten me where are they going to stay if they rent out whole unit?
By the way, I just wanna tell you now it is illegal for pr to lease out whole unit as well, you should report to HDB.
They will do random check and if they lock up one room but lease out whole unit, hdb will confiscate their unit.

No no, you are wrong.

For me, sg government provides me a platform, and that is what I need. You think every PR wanted to renounce PR when they reach 55 years old and leave singapore with their Cpf?
This is not what is in my mind.
