it is a good to turn off your modem and routers at night when not using. Personally I would encourage it.

The controller can also be installed on a computer. It also does not need the controller to be running 24x7 to make USG work. But, having the controller up and running will enable statistics/logs, auto backups and updates, and other AI/automated functions to be performed. I use a cloud key as running a computer 24x7 is heavy (in electricity). But, if you have a 24x7 machine in your environment, you can use that machine instead.

Dunno telnet n Already fixed on ceiling and May haf difficulty bring it down 2 reset... was hoping for A network scan to discover it and adopt back. Find ubiquiti kind of hassle to use. My network r switch off every nite so next day nanohd was shown as disconnected in controller so I tot I can forget it and add back easily but didn’t expect this hassle. Sighz

If you mounted it as intended, you can actually to rotate the AP to remove it (you might need to lift the lock to release). Once detached, the reset button would be accessible.

Not sure about the wifi schedule function though. Perhaps, you can test it out?

however, for some reason they have disabled, or removed it. Used to be able to remote login with 2fa via any normal web browser .

You need the cloud key if you wish to have hybrid cloud control for your network.

The cloud key works like a man in the middle between your home network and the internet.

With the cloud key, you can access your home network from anywhere in the world as the cloud key is "hosted" by Ubiquiti cloud server (AWS). [free for up to 10 cloud key per Ubiquiti account]

For more in-depth users, some may opt to use their computers/servers as their controller and enable cloud access to do the "cloud key" job, may not be workable for some and home users.

It all depends on each's appetite.

Ubiquiti has solutions for "almost" all possible scenario, depending on the System installer skill.

Walk around outside almost any MRT stations and those LTA camera's monitoring illegal parking on the roadside are almost all using Ubiquiti wireless bridging.

Yes, it will still work, as the config has been "pushed" to the AP.

Ubiquiti AP's are fat AP as in the AP gets the config and not that it has to be 100% dependent on the controller.

Controller "only" has to be 24/7 if you are using the captive portal or DPI.

To each their own. Cant be "forcing" people to no switch off their networking devices.

My home Wi-Fi was used to set to off from 1am to 6am till WFH and overseas con-calls coming in during the odd hours.

Unifi are meant to be on 24/7 without issues.
