I'm think of following your strategy and going to open two accounts with them. But had held back cos they say promotion till end sep dunno what will happen after that. Till now no news. I'm currently on scb 1.25%

just open another high yield account under your name, and when its near to the 2 month period just go to counter and withdraw everything using cash deposit form and transfer to your next high yield account, system will register it as fresh funds all the same if its in CASH format

every 2 months just play merry go round for 1.33%, i did it with no prob

It does not work this way. It has to be cheque or cash order from another bank to be consider as "fresh" fund.

High Yield Account Promotion

not sure if ur looking at the right link, their new promo cameout on 25th Sep and its 1.5% PA for savings account with no lock in for the next 3 months

no u r wrong, i just went down to the branch yesterday, transferred all my cash out from one high yield account @1.38% to another high yield account to enjoy the revised 1.5% promotion, as long as the tranfer is in cash system registers that as fresh fund, i did it a couple of times since may and interest still came in, my banker confirmed on the same too

just a straightforward over the counter transfer at the branch? no need to transfer to other banks and then transfer in again?

How did you have 2 hy accounts?

i went to e bt batok and jem uob branch, both offer to help me create extra high yield account under my name to avoid being bounded by the ADB requirement

u can ask them la..they will do it for u..

just a straightforward over the counter transfer at the branch? no need to transfer to other banks and then transfer in again?

no need..i told e bank a fresh fund T&C is redundant n only make it more cumbersome to consumer..since it can be ported out and in again..in the end they also agreed to it and let me withdraw and redepost in cash..save me the trouble of issuing cheques out and in

today is 1st oct and i just checked e cash i desposited yesterday..1.45% even though source of funds orginate frm uob :)

please share the ballpark figures they allow you to withdraw in cash to deposit back into another uob hy account?

asking for a friend who plans to do what you did but her acct is 7 figures so would that pose a problem?

no problem as u r not drawing out physical cash, just need to fill up a cash withdrawal and deposit slip, my colleague has 7 digit and he did it without any hassle

all the branches will have a monthly kpi target of 4M fresh funds, so in exchange for the tedious process they will convince u to setup a new HY acct under their branch code
