Why not DBS MyAccount?
Will never in my life support that garbage bank and its garbage people and their garbage products again.

DBS' horrors aside, ONE is still pretty janky as an account though.

I actually do deposit my salary but I've never successfully done the rest of the weirdness to hit bonus interest since I got better cashback spending on credit cards and all my utility bills are under $50 for the 3-giro thing.

I’ve been through horrors with each of the 3 local banks. I don’t think there is a least junky bank… they are just junkier in their own ways.

Just want to share a personal experience.

I have been using the UOB one credit card for my grab rides to satisfy the $500 CC spending criteria, and when I hit $500+, I will switch to another credit card. It happens that 3 of my rides taken in early August were counted as top-ups (when I just took the rides with credit card payment), and this resulted in me losing the bonus interest for One Account, as well as the rebate for the Credit Card.

I spent over an hour on the phone waiting for the UOB CSO to find out, so I thought I just share here to raise your awareness.

They're one difficult bank to work with to be sure... You have to be very diligent in checking and double checking your transactions to avoid ending up with ineligible transactions and downgrading your reward tier.

Else it can take months to appeal and also they don't bother to call back despite you writing in or leaving a message.

You are right. In my case, they just said they can't do anything about it. I'm thinking of using another credit card and bye bye to UOB One.

Just curious. Was the interest tracker for UOB One account accurate ? The so called ineligible transactions were excluded and it shows you are eligible for bonus interest ?

Hi all, just wish to check because I'm unfamiliar with the Uob One Card.

Are the Grab Food and Grab Car charges, that I charge to One Card, included in the minimum-$500 spending ?

Thanks in advance

Yes, the tracker is accurate. I was lazy last month, I saw $530+ on my credit card spending in the front page and didn't click on the tracker. I thought confirm hit $500 cos I have always been using the UOB one card for Grab, Shopee and MRT/Bus only. It didn't occur to me that some of the Grab rides were billed with a different merchant code.

That is very surprising. Grab Top ups and Rides have different MCCs (and different description) and it should be automatically accounted for. U should appeal UOB to make good the shortfall in account interest and card rebate.

Yes, UOB has this irritating issue when their supposedly partners like Grab did not post the transactions with GRAB* and the bank decided it's not recognised as a Grab transaction. Likewise for Shopee and maybe others.

They rather make you appeal and wait for months before they decide to credit you the shortfall, which is, in my opinion, very petty for a bank. Either that or their quarterly system of cashback causes the long waiting time (because they can only 'close' the issue when the quarter is over).

You have to be very patient with them and don't mind waiting months for the outstanding cashback to be credited.

Very irritated with them already that I kinda stopped using their One card.

Don't give up. Appeal for both the bank interest and credit card rebate.

The problem is with Grab actually. You are not the only one so they should know it is a known problem.

I have encountered this weird thing by Grab also but fortunately my total card spending was higher than $500 after excluding these "ineligible" transactions so did not affect my card rebate or interest.

Personally, I aiming to get bonus interest, and not so concern with quarterly rebate as the latter is more difficult to track.

So just aim to hit $500 under the interest tracker, together with salary crediting can already ....
