Doesn’t look like those generic debit card leh.

looks more like special debit card for a purpose kind
It is the one that must spend x number of transactions in a year in order not to be charged.

When opened joint uob one account, teller say can choose either plain ATM card or this debit card with ATM. Did not say it has charge.

Did they waive after you cancel?
Typically fees are charged for the year ahead.

mid you cancel should waive.

Technically they didn’t say no charge right?

min any case it’s all written.

I hold debit cum ATM cards for ICBC, Citibank and HSBC. All no charge so I did not expect charges for this and did not ask.
Best not to assume stuff in future. Cause as long as it is written, they are covered.

unless your to proof that they tell you wrong stuff (not telling you isn’t wrong) you also can’t do anything about it

Haven't been charged uob debit card fee for the past 2 years. But I recall one year they decided to charge me and I had to cancel the card cos they didn't. Got to speak to CSO, don't think can auto waive via IVR

It's the other way round. It has too much money and is not bothered to piss off customers.

Is UOB the only bank that charge for Debit card which acts as ATM ?
think so too, they should be cash rich as not many businesses taking loans from banks to expand business

it just doesn't make sense to charge customers for an ATM card which is also a debit card - kinda like saying you need to pay to get your own cash from the bank.

i supposed banks are smart to try to merge both functions (ATM + debit) in one and put in an annual fee on it like a credit card. in that case it's wiser not to ask for such a card and just take a basic ATM card from the bank.

I thought someone said that’s not the normal atm card?
