my prudential insurance is counted, not sure about other insurance companies![]()
accepted for eligible spend and/or rebates? - as recurring charge to cc? or you do manual payment
recurrent payment, can setup via pruaccess. Eligible spend for rebate on UOB One Card.
Thanks! And this should count as the giro requirement too. That’s perfect
Uh you referring to Giro for uob one bonus interest? Need to be GIRO bill payment using funds from uob one account. GIRO payment using UOB One card not considered. The recurring payment count using the card spend for bonus interest though.
Just wrote to MAS to make a feedback on UOB. Very unethical to ambush and refuse the $300 on more than $6k spent over 3 months.
No one has control over MCC. We are demanding for a full list of excluded merchants / spending as it will be very unfair for consumers to trail and error and keep spending.
We have experience from another bank that say spending for hospital and clinics are eligible but when we spend at National Heart Centre one day, the MCC code differ. It seems like they used an internet code though we pay are the counter.
However, this bank were able to be flexible unlike UOB. They on one want to enforce strictly on their T&C but yet their T&Cs are not very clear.
They wrote back to seek our understanding that they do not "have control" over the MCC.
Our point is if you do not have control, than you should not use something that you do not have control to control and manage the rebates.

What was spent on and excluded?
Those that were eligible spent for the rebates. As we know, UOB One card has added so many exclusion over the years that now it look more like Selected Spend than "All Spend".
We cannot be spending and spending without knowing if which are NOT eligible. Their CS don't know either.
Yes payment/spending to certain merchants have been added to the exclusion list from time to time, UOB is not the only one doing it, most (if not all) banks can, and will do it
For the consumer who wish to take advantage of such rebates, it'll be good to stay abreast of such changes - be it checking in HWZ forum, or via other channels
There are some users who are more 'careful', they do the transaction in small amount to test market in advance. Of course not everyone has this luxury, and that's where collective intelligence here comes in handy.
