I been using the uob one card.. but just realised that the monthly insurance premium is not entitled to rebates.. how ? Can appeal ?

The irony in my case was the payment was for dining and UOB is likely the merchant's bank too. My appeal regarding the MCC code was flatly rejected by the bank.
For potential controversial MCC code, I will skip UOB cards. KKH's specialist clinic using Fire Dept (govt related) MCC was considered my own "fault" and I was thus considered to have used my appeal quota for the year. I have better experience with Citibank when the MCC codes did not match what I have spent on.
Should be entitled mah

U mean monthly installment for insurance is entitled to rebates ?
Even though you may be familiar with MCC, the merchants' banks may amaze you.I'm personally a BOC cardholder, so I'm familiar with MCC. The actual cardholder that was holding onto this card is a UOB customer for a long time and she had the card as she doesnt like dealing with multiple banks. Haha![]()
The British Council is an executive non-departmental public body, a public corporation (in accounting terms) and a charity under registration numbers 209131 (England and Wales) and SC037733 (Scotland). Although we receive a government grant in aid, the British Council is operationally independent from the UK government and does not carry out functions on behalf of the Crown.

I have a new case of invalid spend at an educational institute where UOB is likely the merchant bank again. British council is govt related!
However, British Council has clearly stated that it is not.
Frankly, it is totally ridiculous that UOB just conveniently blamed it on merchant codes. No effort is made to verify the issue. If UOB is indeed the merchants' banks as shown on my charge slips, the whole issue is just made worse. With another bank, I just had to inform what I had spent on at the merchant, the bank did its own check and credited me with the right benefits. For one particular merchant, I used the card serveral times thereafter but I never had to call in again, i.e. the MCC was updated.Bought tickets to the Singapore Science Center with the card. It was excluded and I did not get my quarterly rebate.

Out of curiosity, may I ask. In your case
if Month #1 you meet $1000 spend tier
Month #2 you meet $1000 spend tier
Month #3 you miss the $1000 spend tier because of this incident
you get $0 rebate for the quarter?
