From another thread:-

Grab topup using mastercard changed to mcc 6540

UOB One T&Cs:-

https://www.uob.com.sg/assets/pdfs/one_card_full_tnc.pdf

5. Exclusions
5.1 The following Card Transactions (collectively referred to as the “Exclusions”) do not qualify to earn any Quarterly Cash Rebates or Base Cash Rebates:-

6540 Stored Value Card Purchase/Load (with effect from 30 November 2019)

Maybe people should phone UOB CSOs and confirm whether their recent grab topup transactions funded by UOB ONE are valid for quarterly and 5% grab rebate. Maybe they only count for 5% grab and unless you spend $500 on something else you get nothing because you don't meet the minimum spend for the quarterly rebate and hence no 5% grab rebate as well.

Still a big question mark this way. It looks like all my PRVI Amex grab top up didnt get any miles either, the miles credited only looks to be good, if the transactions get 0 miles.

The promotion is still ongoing with Grab transactions up to 10% rebate...
I guess it’s not difficult to understand it.

Maybe not difficult to understand. But grab topup MCC has changed this month and the UOB T&Cs specifically exclude the new MCC as counting towards the quarterly and base rebate from 30 Nov. If the MCC hadn't changed then fine, but it has. "Up to 10% rebate" includes 0% rebate.

Both my PRVI Amex and MasterCard topup got ZERO, not even 1x.

Something is changing and alarming. UOB may be pretending otherwise. lol

There could be a change. I was talking to a CSO and he happened to say something about changes to Grabpay topup as eligible spend. I didn't think too much into it as my 30 Nov spend was said to be eligible then and information here suggested that nothing should change. Guess it would be wise to check if these transactions are still valid spend before the next statement date.

..... I was talking to a CSO and he happened to say something about changes to Grabpay topup as eligible spend...

Question is, how accurate are these CSOs? Can call ten times and get ten different answers (ok, here it is either included, or not included).
When I inform them that I'm recording the calls, they stop responding in a definite way or cut off the line.

Up to 10% = 5 x $400 topping up to grab = $2000. Thats how you get up to 10%.
Meaning topping up to grab is eligible for quarterly rebate.

Won’t UOB get penalised for false advertising? Grab will be implicated too.
If they changed t&c, they should remove it from their webby.

Dont need to call UOB hotline or speculate.
I have found out as of today evening 20 Dec, GrabPay UOB One VisaTop Up
MCC Code is still 7399.
Based on UOB One card latest term and condition, Grab TopUp via UOB One card still eligible for the respective usual rebate.

How many times have banks continue to grant waivers when it only says 1 year free?

How many times did u get your repeated late fee waive after you escalated the calls to a manager?

How many times have you dispute over misleading content and the bank approves in your favour?

Honestly for myself, majority of the times the bank approved in my favour.

the csos cannot answer clearly because now there are conflicting infos

1st point--all grab txns are eligible
2nd point-MCC excluded

Anyway no need to record the calls with CSO, just need to remember the time u called as all calls are recorded for a reason

The last thing I will do is to call the call centre when nothing is clear now and you are forcing the bank to make it clear.
And if the cso would have say, yes, grab topup is excluded, you would have been caught in the recording that the bank representative had specifically told you over the call.

The 1st thing I will do is only AFTER if I didn't get the rebate, I will just call and explain to the bank why I deserve the rebate

Banks are not unreasonable. its just you need to spend more effort in getting what you deserved

Via saved cards? Hopefully UOB doesn't go down the route where we have to manually keyed in the card number each time.

To me, the more impt thing is the spend is still under the correct MCC. The CSO didn't commit to a definite change but just suggested that things may change even though it was past 30 Nov 19.

The old ones has already expired long ago.. but the new one is not open for application now.. so... :(

Desperate times requires desperate measures. Still can nett 9% after the topup fee. Good as backup if can get.

When you call the bank and they tell you they will check and call back but never happen.
