i wrote and checked with CardUp with regards to my scheduled april payment to my condo's MCST. Quoting the This was their reply

Thanks for getting in touch.

Following UOB's updated Terms and Conditions governing their UOB ONE Card (effective from 16 March 2020 onwards), we confirm that your payments on CardUp scheduled with this card will continue qualifying for cashback according to your minimum monthly card spend.

Do hope this clarifies, but please feel free to reach back if you have any additional queries.

I paid my condo fee on 1 April via Cardup, just to try out. After this transaction being posted into my UOB One card, I called UOB on 3 April and learnt that the MCC of this transaction is 6513, which is excluded after 16 March. This is despite of Cardup's confirmation on 24 March :'Yes, you will be eligible for the bank's cash rebates via CardUp.'

Launching complaint on Monday.

FYI IPaymy has changed all payment types to be under MCC 7399, still eligible to rebate

oh no... that's not cool. my scheduled MCST payment is due in a few days time, i'll email them now to confirm... otherwise i'm switching to ipaymy too.

actually if your payment is shown as processing, I suggest you email them now. They can do a full refund to the card as long as the money is not transferred yet. I've done it before.... make them full refund and if you still have time, make another payment via cardup and make sure they charge under the correct MCST.

so is ipaymy better for paying insurance, condo fees etc? seems like cardup is not that reliable...

i'm still waiting to see the eligible spend after using cardup for March for my prudential insurance - whether they got include or not (although over the phone they assured me it is included).

Only condo fee and rental using Cardup may still be under the rental MCC that is excluded. All other Cardup payments and all Ipaymy payments are under mcc 7399, which is still eligible.

Thanks for trying out.

I would just use UOB One Card to pay insurance premium from now on then.

No problem, now I just have to hit 500 for oub one. After that I just use debit card transfer to MCO. At least mco's rebate is much reliable.
