No, I have open UOB-ONE saving account for 1+ years. All along I have no issue, as I always spent within the calendar month so coincidentally....hence problem did not surface out immediately...or else I will more careful with....

Recently, due to COVID-19 situation, my spending dragged a bit, which is still within the credit card statement month, BUT failed the calendar month which is I am unaware of....

With this, I got myself into trouble....

If you spend $2000 every Month and UOB-One saving Acc. only require $500, the chances of not hit $500 within Calendar Month is low.
You can request to move the CC statement Date to the 2nd day of the Month which I did before.

Looks like a cheat code.. haha.. but who knows the merchant might use another mcc..

Sent from Samsung SM-N970F using GAGT

At one point, i bought Diary Farm vouchers at Giant with Maybank FnF for 8% cashback. Then tried to use those vouchers at 7-eleven to buy giftcards. But they reject haha.

I know where is the problem already after I called UOB Hotline...

For earning UOB-ONE Card Cash Rebate => Go by card statement month.

For interest earn from UOB-ONE Saving account => UOB measured in calendar month.

My UOB-ONE statement is from 11th to 10th next month.

I spent $2K these few days, which is (May-Jun cycle), but UOB said I did not spend in the calendar month of May, hence no interest earn.

I guess u just open the account? u can request to sync the statement date to calendar date..

yes, agree it is best to sync card spend month and calendar month. My statement month was usually on 23rd; I asked CSO to change it to 30th.

Any reason they reject?

Nope. The cashier wore a very annoyed expression, waved me away, and then said "Don't accept!" in Chinese, in a rather aggressive tone haha. Then she went into the backroom before I could respond. I think too many people tried this, and she had enough of our ****.

*EDIT*: To be clear, it's not that 7-11 doesn't accept the giftcards. I've used them to purchase stuff from the same cashier, both before and after that incident. It's just that 7-11 doesn't accept Diary Farm giftcards as payment, for other giftcards haha. So they do have some controls in place.

Any mention of this in the TnC on the voucher?

Nope. Unstated company policy would be my guess. Not worth the trouble to make a scene there, and potentially getting banned from the store. 7-11 is the only place i know that sells wogi giftcards, and you can convert those to literally every giftcard i can think of.

u cannot use vouchers to buy gift card. Likewise, u cant use NTUC vouchers to buy gift cards.

Unless the cashier blur, rightfully no.

yes as vouchers/gift cards typically has expiry date, so if this is allowed, user can potentially extend the expiry infinitely by 'swapping' it for other vouchers/gift cards etc etc

Yes this is stated on ntuc voucher. Think buying other gift cards at 7 eleven is another matter.

intention is just to state that supermarkets, 7-11, cheers do not allow using voucher to exchange for another voucher/gift cards.

Just because it doesnt state explicitly means the shop has the obligation to accept.

You may try to buy gift cards using credit card at cheers (they dont even allowed even though it is not stated anywhere)

Huh. I also didn't know NTUC sell other people's giftcards. The ones near my house and near my workplace don't carry them. Only sell NTUC's own giftcards.

Anyway the gift card you like can be bought on qoo10? Can stack card promos+qoo10 gift card discount+ qoo10 cart coupon
