I have failed to apply for this card. Anyone knows how long do I need to work in singapore to apply for credit card? Im from malaysia and have been working for 6 months.

tnc just state 3 giro debits, so shld pass, hahaha, test at your own risk or call hotline to double confirm, hahaha

I have a few policies with ntuc, they arrange giro only once per mth, hahaha, now I got 3 confirmed giro debits coming in July, all cc bill payment, huat ah!

Swee hopefully moi get 3 giro deductions in July too

if you are not PR, it is very unlikely that a local bank will give you a unsecured credit card.

One thing about giro.. How we know it has been activated? If I'm not wrong we got to wait 6 weeks or so..
We just trust that it really does? Or u guys actually call up someone to confirm it's activation?

Duh if sway sway kenna 3 late charges cos the thing not setup yet

For cc bill payment, you will get a letter from the bank confirming that giro will be activated in which mth's statement and/or when u receive your cc statement, it will be stated in the statement that settlement will be made via giro, otherwise u shld continue to make payment manually.

for me i apply for POSB, OCBC, UOB.
OCBC send me a letter to cfm.
for POSB and UOB, i have to call each one up to cfm.

hahaha, the best confirmation is when u receive your cc statement and it prints "payment debited via "bank account number", hahaha

haha. isnt it too late? so if the sentence is not printed, den u wld have wasted your time waiting for this confirmation.
you cld have used the time to contact the bank and activate the GIRO linkage if it is not there.haha

hahaha, based on my experience, no time wasted, my money will be parked in another bank to earn 2.35% until I get this confirmation, and I know when my statements will come and when payment will be effected, so just nice, move my money back on July1 to earn 2.43%, hahaha, giro debits will occur 2nd week of July, hahaha

and u can check IB when UOB approved and then pending the other bank's action, hahaha, btw I know only 1 cc payment giro will be executed this mth on Jun23, hahaha

You can check from IB under bill payment - manage GIRO arrangement!

I have a OCBC cc bill due for payment on Jun23. I made partial payment via IB with less than half unpaid. On Jun23 during the day (am), OCBC posted giro payment for the unpaid amt, so balance zero. On Jun24, I checked, amt was deducted from my UOB a/c, so it was done while we were sleeping. I tick full payment in the giro application form.

my current monthly spend on this card is $300+, trying to get that to $800 to get the $80/quarter rebates on UOB One. Thinking of depositing my fren's paypal account (but lugi 3.9%) or maybe buy some vouchers

anyone has any tips to chalk up $ on the UOB One Card just to get the interests % from the UOB One Account? if don't mind sharing, can PM me on ur method? Thanks

i wouldnt recommend installment. always had the fear (justified or unnecessary, whichever applies) of being tied to the card due to installment contract, esp when one feel the need to cancel card or ask for waiver.
