My latest statement date is 23rd Aug. So am I right to assume if the card gets approved by 9th Sept, then for the first month will be 9th Sept to 23rd Sept?

So if I manage to spend $500 between 10th Sept to 22nd Sept, any idea how the rebate prorate will be ?

for your case the first quarter is still under the $30/$80/$150 quarterly rebate scheme. If spend $500 in first month, you get $30 quarterly rebate if spend >$300 in next 2 months, get $10+2/3*80 if spend >$800 in next 2 months, get $10+2/3*150 if spend >$1500 in next 2 months

my interpretation is

299/300/300 u get 0/10/10 total $20

300/300/300 u get 10/10/10 total $30

500/800/800 u get 0/26.67/26.67 total $53.34

500/1500/1500 u get 0/50/50 total $100

hahaha, all the answers u got are wrong!

New UOB One Card- Singapore's most generous card was launched on 9 Aug 2015, national day. All new cardholders will enjoy the new rebates immediately. Existing cardholders will only get to enjoy the new rebates from Oct 1 2015 (see FAQ for details).

From my experience, my card was approved in May 2015 with statement date June 12. My quarter was May, June, July with "first" statement on June 12 and final statement on July 12. I received 2/3 of rebates on Aug 12. When I get my card in May, UOB already eaten up 1 mth (ie April to May 12), so only need to spend for May 13 to June 12 cycle.

So if u apply for your card this mth, assuming approved on 9 Sept, your quarter will be Sept Oct Nov, u start spending for Oct mth from date u receive your card to 9 Oct (uob takes approval date as statement date). Shld uob use your existing card's statement date, ie 23 Sept, then u have less time to clock the spend of say $2k to get $300 rebate per qtr. If u can hit 2k for Oct and Nov, u get 2/3 of rebate (ie $200), if u can only hit 2k in Nov, u get 1/3 of rebate.

hahaha, good luck!

On proper construction of the T&Cs relating to pro-ration of the first qualifying quarter relating to new UOB ONE card members, it appears that spending $499/$1000/$1000 will get a total rebate of $66.67 and spending $500/$1000/$1000 will get a total of $50 rebate.

This is because the Minimum Spending Tier has already been achieved in the first statement and hence does not require any pro-ration.

as pointed by wts2013
all shot wrong targets:s13:

for new customer, the tier will be 500/1000/2000

the important point is not spending enough($500 min) when get your "first" statement (wts2013 pointed out too)

Forget about spending in the first month if the spending pattern going to be $500/$2000/$2000; spend in the 2nd and 3rd months: $0/$2000/$2000, OR in the 3rd month: $0/$0/$2000.

... where the Minimum Amount for a Tier is only met in the third Statement for the first Quarter, then one-third of the Quarterly Cash Rebate for that respective Tier will be awarded; [Clause 3.2(i) of the ONE Card T&C]

... where the Minimum Amount for a Tier is only met in the second and third Statements for the first Quarter, then two-thirds of the Quarterly Cash Rebate for that respective Tier will be awarded; [Clause 3.2(ii) of the ONE Card T&C]

The confusion is ppl thought the $499 will be prorated instead

Can anyone advice if the following spending is entitled to any rebates?

1st month = $200
2nd month = $600
3rd month = >$1000

How will the cash rebates work, if any? I contacted the CSO and was told because 1st month never hit $300, the ENTIRE quarter is not entitled to any rebate regardless of how much spending in 2nd and 3rd month.:s22:

Thanks much in advance!
