when you have a transaction in month T, and a refund in month T+1, which month does it minus off the spending from?

Eg Month T spent $500, of which there is a $50 transaction. You know there will be a refund for the $50 but you wait and wait, it is only credited in Month T+1. Now this $50 refund is credited in Month T+1, is your Month T's spending still $500 or considered $450?

Or another scenario, the refund is credited on the last day of your billing cycle, and you have no time to spend more. Only way to guard against this is spend more now which result in 0% rebate for the additional spend?

If the refund is only credited in Month T+3 or later (next quarter), I hope it only means you have to spend more that month to make up for it, and that they do not claw back the previous quarter's rebate

Thanks Trazora! My statement quarter is as followed:
2-Aug-YY to 1-Sept-YY
2-Sept-YY to 1-Oct-YY
2-Oct-YY to 1-Nov-YY
....

Pardon me, what do you exactly mean by "And "nov 15" refer to statement in nov 15 which include transactions posted after oct 15 statement"?

Thanks!
Think you changed your statement date? Better check with the cso what is your new quarter

If a transaction of a certain amount is expected to be refunded and posted in a particular month's statement, simply spend and get an equivalent amount posted in that month's statement.

yes thats the obvious thing.

so the qn is more what if the refund is credited in another month's statement?

The answer is the same - get an equivalent amount posted in that month's statement.
so it only affects the billing cycle in which the refund is credited?

e.g. month T, T+1, T+2 each spend $2000. but in T+3 there is refund of $50 for a spending in T+2. it does not affect T+2's total spend but T+3's total spend, correct?

Yes, because if the minimum spend Tier is $2000/$2000/$2000, a refund of $50 in any month is going to affect the Tier, resulting in a change of Quarterly Rebate from $300 to $100.

Hi,

Just to confirm, do the cash rebates apply to any and all charges made to the card, including recurring bill payments?

Yes, any charges except for the usual bank fees and such

This has been asked so many times. The least you could do is to go back a few pages and the answer will be presented on a silver platter for you?

let me por the mod:D

actually to my understanding, that is actually not true. the cash rebates do not apply to any and all charges made to the card, but only charges (after excluding finance charges) that hits the tier and not exceeds the tier.

Think the gist of the question is the type of charges. But you are right to point out wrt need to take care of the spending amount also. Best to spend just slightly above the tiered min spending to maximise the effective rebate.

How sure are you that your current quarter is
2-Aug-YY to 1-Sept-YY
2-Sept-YY to 1-Oct-YY
2-Oct-YY to 1-Nov-YY

If card is good thru May, which implies card start month is May, likely the quarters are
May, Jun, Jul
Aug, Sep, Oct
Nov, Dec, Jan
Feb, Mar, Apr

As the quarter is based on the statement date, your current quarter may be
2-Jul-15 to 1-Aug-15
2-Aug-15 to 1-Sep-15
2-Sept-15 to 1-Oct-15
Not sure if there is any exception as the date cut close to the next month, so better check with the bank to be sure what is the quarter

Assuming current quarter is Aug,Sep,Oct and there is no exception the first quarter that the new rebate scheme applies will be Nov, Dec, Jan, ie statements
2-Oct-15 to 1-Nov-15
2-Nov-15 to 1-Dec-15
2-Dec-15 to 1-Jan-16

What I meant in my previous post is statement in Nov consists of spending posted from 2Oct to 31Oct, and not only spending in Nov

hi guys, am confused with my UOB for this month.

my bill for this quarter (may, june, july), i actually spent $1500 for each month, by right i should be getting $150 cash rebates in my aug statement, however, i dont see this at all, instead i only received $28.50 as UOB ONE CASH REBATE BILL REDEMPTION, are there any changes to the uob one cash rebates? :(

Is it because you spent only $28.50 so there is not enough to offset until $150?

Hi guys,

reading thru all the posts in the thread, i don't see whats the cap on the total amount of rebates we can get per year?

is it, 300 per quarter (3 months) x 4 = $1200?
