it is also wtfcard.sg who openly publishes articles such as how to get 10% off **** or best CC card to top up that doubles the speed of closure. site hasn't been great hence low takeup needing other avenues to drive visits to their site.

Any problem (with regard to ONE acct interest rate and One card rebates) if I do monthly ONLY Grab top up of more than 5 transactions totaling >$2000? And nothing else.

MY grab top up ends up mainly to pay IRAS, road tax, and a few hundreds for food and miscellaneous stuff.

Ok for now, but there is risk that uob may change the tnc for subsequent month

so let's say I swipe my card today, and request merchant to post the txn a few days later

thanks!

Depends on what kind of merchant. Technically, the transaction only "post" when the merchant "claims" the money.

Some is automatic, so no way for them to "claim" the money manually, ie like Grab. Others (small volume ones) may have some form to claim the money or so.

Used to be the case where people top up grab in order to meet minimum spending. Now more and more folks topping up $2000 grab credits and no other retail spending per month. Wont be long before UOB take action and topping up to grab become ineligible spending. Then need to find other ways to meet minimum spending....

If this Dec is the 1st month in the Quarter and spent $2K, and if next month UOB to exclude the topup, then headache....

Why worry when the Grab offer gets nerfed? Just make hay while the sun shines. I have no doubt that it will get nerfed eventually, but is there any point worrying about it now?

Its normal to topup 2k to grab and get 10% rebate plus grabpoints with gpmc rather than getting 5% only with uob. Mathematically it makes sense. I will max out every uob one if theres an option to do so.

Why headache.

Next 2 months spend $500. You still get your quarterly rebates from UOB1

So December spend $2000 Grab.
As a christmas present UOB nerfs Grab
January spend $500 elsewhere
February spend $500 elsewhere

Total rebate $50 + $100 = $150 which is 5% rebate on $3000 spend?

you get additional 5% for grab $2k which is $100, the rest will become 3.33% rebate based on $500 tier which is $50.

That means for the $2000 you topup, $1500 wont have any rebate and $500 will be downgraded from 5% to 3.33%.

Isn't that what I said?

Total rebate will be $150. $50 normal rebate for $500 spend for 3 months (3.33%) plus additional $100 rebate for $2000 Grab spend in December (5%).

So using the scenario I posted for a spend of $3000 over 3 months with a December start for the quarter and Grab nerfed on 31st December the total rebate will be $150 or 5%.

yes i see it differently though, to me i will lose out on the base rebate of 3.33% or 5% for the $1500 in first month though still can get bonus 5%

too early to speculate now, they can nerf in some many different ways, like removing grabpay topup totally from eligible txn, or just removing the bonus 5% but still eligible for base 3.33% or 5%, i think it will be a staggered nerfing rather than excluding totally
