Hi so did you manage to get the missing cash rebates from UOB? I have been facing same situation with my Cardup transactions.. but weird is that some are eligible while some are not... They have been checking with no update for a month... Check with different CS some say 7399 eligible some say not.. very confusing! Have even called up Cardup to clarify, they said confirm eligible if got problem they can help sort out with UOB as they have a partnership with the bank...
Don't understand why people like to trust basic level CSOs over black and white terms and conditions. TnC is more legally binding than what entry level CSOs claim.
CSOs everywhere are poor when comes to more complex issues, especially those who have been out from training after a long time. If you ask for your account balance, they can get it for you correctly, but if you ask something like this, they would have to refer to the product team for a definite answer. Otherwise, is their interpretation of the TnC vs yours. Do you think those with very good memory, to remember what has been taught plus recent changes and good legal interpretation of TnC, would be entry level CSOs?
Whether you call UOB or Cardup, every time you call, you may get a different answer. Whether MCC qualifies or not, lies with UOB, nothing Cardup can do, other than feed you with past information or standard replies.
If you think CSO and TnC contradict, ask to be referred to higher ups. Even SQ basic CSOs sometimes cannot give the proper answer for complex issues.
For example, once, this CSO attempted to charge me the wrong mileage for a star alliance redemption. Immediately, I told him/her it is wrong and ask him/her to escalate the case. Supervisor called back with correct mileage value.
Even for banks, I just got transferred 4 times, and CSOs claims I was calling the wrong line, when I have called the same line to perform the same task previously. If you want, just record the call, once you get one CSO claiming it is eligible, use that against UOB to claim for points subsequently.
