So something weird happened.. My fiancé and I both have the UOB ONE card, and we have been diligently going down to the hotel for our wedding banquet to pay $1000 each every starting of the month.

My cut off date for each statement period is on the 23rd, and his is the 12th, and this month we went down a few days later than usual, on the 7th to make payment.

He received his statement yesterday and his $1,000 transaction was not included for some reason. Yet when I logged in to my iBanking (he doesn't have it yet), I saw that my own transaction was posted on 8th November.

From the 7th to 12th that's 5 days difference. And mine was posted 1 day later so not sure what happened to his transaction.

Anyone ever encountered such a delay before? I'm not sure what are the chances of a dispute to get the quarterly rebates now. But it just doesn't make sense... $150 goooone. :(

Yeah, he has tried to call them a few times since yesterday. Cannot get through, lol. Hope it's just an error!

This card is really hazardous to use without ibanking. And I advise going immediately after the bill cut off date to pay. Anything in the last week is actually risky.

Quite a number of us have paid tuition fees to this card.

Haha I've never seen a transaction so delayed before though. Didn't think it could actually happen, especially when another funny thing was that typically every time we get charged for this amount of $1000, we will each receive an SMS from UOB to inform us. This time, I didn't get an SMS, but my fiancé did, yet my transaction was posted the day after, and his wasn't.

Baffled... :s22::s11:

Yeah, I like being able to see my transactions in iBanking. At least UOB's is easy to keep track of.

Its like their "prorated" first quarter nonsence... Generally, I think quarterly rebate card policy are risky.

3.33% of $300 + 5.33% of S$400?

Remember that Limited Collection National Day Card?
Accepted UOB's invitation and got it with the same expiry as the previous card.

Recently, they sent me back the old version with a new expiry date.
Mad or what?

3.33% on $300 (because tiers are 300, then 800)
2% on $400 (because overseas spending earn 2% regardless of achieving tiers or not).

If you had spent $300 + 500 then it'll be

3.33% on $800
2% on $400 (overseas spending)

??? wat did i miss out?

As usual, we turn to the T&Cs for analysis.

Under Clause 4 of the the UOB Additional 2% Cash Rebate T&Cs,

"In addition to the quarterly cash rebate presently offered to each Cardmember(s) under the Main Terms, each Cardmember(s) shall be entitled to earn additional two per cent (2%) cash rebate (“Bonus Rebates”) on any Overseas Spend made during the Promotional Period using the Eligible Card...."

Interpretatation and analysis:
Spend between $300.00 and $799.99
in at least THREE transactions,
per STATEMENT MONTH, and
in each qualifying STATEMENT QUARTER.
Reward: Flat $30.00 cash rebate after the quarter.

Overseas amount simply gets another 2% rebate on top of that flat $30 rebate.

Total rebate collected for that quarter= $30+ 2% on overseas foreign currency spending capped at $5k/year.

Ignore 3.33%. Know only $30/$50/$80 rebates per quarter.
