Think it can be changed with another GIRO application
Certainly it can, along with another 4-6 weeks.

Yup, more exact though plus / minus a day is common.
Better be exact cos 1 transaction posted late may mean big loss to rebate
Absolutely prudent.Better be exact cos 1 transaction posted late may mean big loss to rebate
Agree. 3 months of rebate and 1 month of interest.
As the most prudent person here, would you risk transacting on the 18th in order to get the crucial transaction posted on the 19th, even though the statement date is 19th? Would your answer change even if the statement date is 20th?
The answers are obvious.
Lol. I'm obviously not the most prudent person.
But I think the pitfalls are more important to watch out for than the benefits.
I will always hit the spending limit at beginning of cycle, so this will not happen to me. However, shld it happen, I know what to charge to get it posted the next day. But that depends if those dates quoted falls on a weekend, hahaha, obviously lah
Who else could have this coveted title of "The Most Prudent Person"?
But, it is only fair that benefits come with burdens.

Just in case something unexpected happen, maybe you can share what we can charge to to get it posted the next day.
certainly not me.
anyway, a lot of people had missed that, it wouldnt hurt for people to see one more reminder, esp an important one. and if the burdens are not suitable for some people, they can be better informed and consider other deals more suitable for them.
People who consistently need reminders and tips will never learn.
Let it be a painful lesson for them to learn where it hurts most.
That is when they truly learn.
And if the burdens prove so much, so sorrowful for them to deal with, quit.
Giving constructive advice/reminder, is the key purpose of the forums. We can't help it if people choose to not heed the advice. But it does not mean we should keep mum and leave people to learn from painful lesson. I am sure there will be people who benefit from such constructive posts. Maybe you should be more constructive also when making your posts.
Also when others point out some inaccuracies in your post, it is for a good cause to avoid confusing/misleading others. Hope you don't get too defensive.
It is unfortunate the earlier post was not construed as constructive. The earlier post was intended as a wake-up call for these stubborn, lazy and always wanting-to-be-spoon-fed group of people.
The concept is easy. Fail to charge on time, lose all rebates, become wiser and the failure will not be repeated. That is learning. Learning through the hard way is the most valuable lesson if sweet talking and other cajoling do not work. For how else could these people truly learn?
And no, minor inacurracies pointed are not fatal and are no cause for concern. But we cannot help if people choose to be confused/misled, can we? Hope you dont get too obsessive with spoon-feeding.
For the sake of completeness though, try charging to NTUC, cold storage. These huge merchants tend to clear their credit card transactions daily.
