Can I just recheck again. If qualifying period is Oct to Dec, and the new rules start 1 Oct 2015 for existing cardholders, then should start spending 2k from Sep onwards?

For clarity, using statement date as 20 Oct (the "October statement") and the qualifying period as Oct, Nov & Dec, the 2k spendings must be posted at any time from 21 Sep to 19 Oct to be reflected in the October statement.

Thank you for your explanation. My statement date varies between 4-6 every month. Initially thought spendings from 1 Oct onwards then qualify for the 5%. Now they say by statement qualifying period (statement shows Oct to Dec, Jan to Mar, Apr to Jun, Jul to Sep). Which means I've to +/- 500 the spendings from 6 Sep onwards. Less than 2 weeks, in need of time to work around the expenditures..

Recall getting transactions posted on the same day.

SPC and Cold Storage, using UOB terminals, are able to make same day postings (except Sundays and PHs). These would be very important for those crucial last minute postings to achieve minimum spending tier.

Statement date should be fixed?

Might be wrong on this but a posting made on the 20th should be reflected in the same month:
20 Sep in September statement; 20 Oct in October statement.

Vaguely recall posted transaction on statement date get counted on the following month statement.

Vaguely recall posted transaction on statement date get counted on the following month statement.

After looking through previous statements with statement date on 20th, it is confirmed that posted transactions on 20th itself will be reflected on the statement of the same month.

The reason is that a statement dated 20th is not generated on the day itself but 1 day later on the 21st to include all posted transactions on 20th.

Therfore, a SPC or Cold Storage transaction made at 10pm on 20 July would be reflected in July statement; the same goes for a NETS Flashpay transaction posted on 20 July.

Basically the statement date on the letter is 20th, and posted transactions is posted up to 20th, but the letter carrying that date is generated and sent out on 21st. Rite?

It has a 1 day variance to take into account Sundays and PHs.

Do they change the statement date or merely changed the date that the letter is generated and sent out? No bringing forward rite? My guess is they simply do not post on ph, statement date unchanged, letter sent out on the day after ph

Yes, this is correct.

(Also, 20th E-statements can only be seen in the 'late' mornings of 21st.)

After reviewing statements from Nov 2014 onwards, it is hereby noted that only Dec 2014 and June 2015 were dated 21st (both were Sundays); all other months were consistently dated 20th.

The reason for this is unclear.
