3 statement periods, how to update you now?

oh yea... sorry. Forgot it took very long. So must redeem manually every month in order not to miss the monthly rebate cap?

Also, does the UNI$ earned from other card work for rebate redemption? ;)

Agree that this card isn't as good as a few others UOB offers. But I remember last time at the cinemas (GV, I think) you could join the express queue that was for Signature holders and people picking up pre-booked tickets. That really helped when the normal queue had about 50 people in it. Not sure if they still offer that though. Haven't bought tix in a long time!

They still have that express queue. But so many Signature Cards now, quite meaningless.

Anyway, this card is fantastic for those of us who travel. Hitting $1k is not difficult in foreign expenses. Keeping it below $2k is the challenge. :s22:

Credit Cards | Enjoy generous lifestyle privileges & rewards with UOB Visa Signature Card

Seems like they now include online (foreign currency) and paywave for 5% too!

1. Online is only for foreign currency, which is valid in the foreign currency spend portion anyway so nothing new really, they just make it clearer.

2. Paywave is new addition but only for local spend of $1000 which mean you need to spend a lot getting crap returns before you get that 10x for paywave. Now they even make the 10x for petrol spend valid only for min $1000 local spend instead of just generic $1000 spending.

I will only use it for foreign currency spend.

Both charge 2.5% extra for foreign currency. UOB VS give 5% or 4miles/$ for foreign currency spend if you spend >$1k, really no way for Amex ascend to match, don't need to compare.

Just remember that the bonus points maxes out at $2k.

For spending above $2k, Ascend card might be worthwhile if you are still getting the sign-on multiplier. Otherwise, better cards out there for earning miles on forex.

UOB Visa 2.5%, Amex 2.5% so its the same but exchange rate determined by Visa and Amex might be different. Amex does not disclose exchange rate so difficult to compare. Since you still got 5x miles with Amex ascend then its pretty worth it too, will also give you slightly more miles.

I understand that the spending must be within the statement period. However anyone has any idea if it is based on usage date or transaction posting date?

Since you said its statement period then only posting date matters.
