U need a 3.2-3.3 to go umelb with no exemptions cost way more than UQ. 3.5 or so to get 1 yr.
Adelaide is GO8, RMIT not GO8. Better uni may give u an edge and oz degree, if u do real well can skip honors to do masters. Go uk do masters in good uni just read an additional yr.
U can go for honors with either cert why do u want both? U have to apply separately much like what u did today, u think ucas I application can hit 5 unis and direct honors? Lol

Uofmelb honors for finance only takes 10-20 students each intake. So without great grades no chance.

Bf doing what now? So expert...
Buddy did management in UWA went off to LSE to do finance masters, not worth it?? Humm..
Aiyoh in a relationship who not reluctant? See it as a test loh.., meant to be go for 2 yrs also ok, not meant to be stay also like that. U have to see what u value in life, when u settle down u want to become housewife and let so make the big $$. Or if u seeking equal earning power?

It's best for u to stay and go for the major u like. Ppl tell u go finance but do u have the chops to make big $$. If not stick to what u do best. Dad and bf against and u don't have the mindset to reason how to make the best use if funds; stay do a degree some where and work part time. Grow up and them respect u then u can choose where u wanna go for higher degree.

not intending to get both RMIT and NAA cert. i meant between both, is there one that is more likely to go honors or both the same? so if honors i have to reapply after i get my degree?

bf is navy regular lol. think he reluctant to do LDR lo. not interested to be full time housewife, don't want to rely on so to be sole breadwinner.

The name if the uni isn't enough u need to have the grades.
No info on how easy or hard btw the 2 uni.
Honors u have to apply, no reapplying. U didn't apply for honors. U may get invited if u are really good but not all uni does invitation.

Most ppl think uni in the GO8 is better than uni that is not in the list.

So if i go NAA Bach of commerce, if I want honours I need to apply the Bach of commerce (honours ) instead?

dun think sim dip is 8 mths or 1 yr. a friend took the dip, he said its an intensive 18 mths, lessons from mon to sat every week and almost no holiday.

its so hard for poly grads to enter local unis. the quota allocated is so low. now 3.5 also hard to enter, whereas A level grades of average Cs can enter liao.

I have to disagree. All the popular courses still damn hard to get in for A level students. Biz/acct, pharmacy, aerospace, med/dentistry all requires a full set of As for A level students. And requires GPA of 3.8-4 for poly students.

Those unpopular courses like engineering, yeah, all C will just get you in. But poly GPA 3.3 and above also can. I have a friend in NTU CBC got in with a 3.2. 3.5 where got hard to enter. I know quite a lot of 3.5s in NTU. It just depends on the course you wanna go.

There is a different between doing your degree here and doing it overseas. I was asked by different HRs before. Seemingly, the payscale is different for both.

Depend on courses. Those not popular ones usually has lower GPA requirements. Beside, both NUS and NTU set aside some seats for students with NAA - your non-academic achievements (rep Singapore in competitions) will be taken into consideration even if your GPA is below 10% percentile of IGP.

i see....i think they are giving more places to poly students now. but i was told 3.5 cant even get into nus. back then a sec sch friend who went to jc said he didnt do too well, gt Cs and Ds but still could get into ntu...humanities i think, whereas a few of us with high 3.3/3.4 didnt even smell any interview. last time there seem to have a consensus that those who go to poly are those who didnt do well in o level.

but anyway in pte sector now and where your degree is from doesnt really matter much actually.

take a look.
Diploma - Diploma in Economics by University of London (UOL)

sometimes hearing is not believing.

and bro, A level average Cs might get you into engineering only, assuming u are an science student, but if you are an arts student, you get this result,s it's worst than a lousy gpa from poly because u cant go anywhere else other than arts, media n design from ntu/ ntu chinese. Most of these a lvl arts grad eventually landed up in SIM. btw a level arts student = you dont take h2 sciences at all.

And poly still can go SIT if fail @nus,ntu,smu cos it's designed for dip holders. JC is path designed for you to go local, if you screwed up/grades cui, where can you go? sim? overseas? but no exemptions unlike poly.
so JC path is like betting big for gambling, if fail you lose more. whereas poly is more of a low bet, play safe, imho

payscale different means overseas higher than sg local uni or lower? general expectation : overseas uni ranking > local uni = pay higher? cannot be i grad from harvard, my payscale lower than a nus right? assuming uni ranking is the only factor, not considering other stuffs GPA,work experience, etc
