HPE reports fiscal 2021 second quarter results

The J.M. Smucker Co. Announces Fiscal 2021 Fourth Quarter Results
June 3, 2021

• Net sales decreased $171.8 million, or 8 percent. Net sales excluding divestitures and foreign currency exchange decreased 3 percent, driven by lapping consumer stock-up purchasing resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic in the prior year, partially offset by continued elevated at-home consumption.
• For the full year, net sales were $8.0 billion, an increase of 3 percent. Net sales excluding divestitures and foreign currency exchange increased 5 percent.
• Net income per diluted share for the quarter was $1.35. Adjusted earnings per share was $1.89, a decrease of 26 percent.
• For the full year, net income per diluted share was $7.79. Adjusted earnings per share was $9.12, an increase of 4 percent.
• Cash from operations was $291.0 million compared to $287.7 million in the prior year. Free cash flow was $183.0 million in the quarter and $1,258.3 million for the full year.
• Return of capital to shareholders, including cash dividends and share repurchases, was $272.7 million in the quarter and $1.1 billion for the full year.
• The Company provided its fiscal 2022 outlook, with an expected net sales decrease of 2 to 3 percent, adjusted earnings per share to range from $8.70 to $9.10, and free cash flow of $900 million.

Fiscal year 2021 marked another year of progress strengthening our financial position, with earnings growth and cash generation enabling debt reduction and return of cash to our shareholders."

if given a choice, 4-5% yield
sometimes oso depends on the historical yield of the company.
eg JNJ av yield last 5 yrs abt 2.6-2.7%%, so i hav to wait long long time for it to hit even 4%.

3 US Consumer Stocks with Dividend Growth That Will Surprise You

Campbell Soup Company (NYSE: CPB)

The pandemic has created elevated demand for the company’s products, leading to a respectable set of results for its fiscal 2021 half-year ended 31 January 2021 (1H2021).

Net sales rose 6% year on year to US$4.6 billion while operating profit jumped by 29% year on year to US$862 million.

Excluding earnings from discontinued operations, net profit would have surged by 63% year on year to US$554 million.

More importantly, Campbell Soup has been steadily increasing its quarterly dividend since 2002.

WD-40 Company (NASDAQ: WDFC)

Operating profit climbed by 49.1% year on year to over US$49 million while net profit surged by close to 54% year on year to US$40.8 million.

WD-40 has been a superb dividend payer with over 40 years of uninterrupted dividend payments.

In its latest quarter, the company bumped up its quarterly dividend from US$0.67 to US$0.72.

Clorox (NYSE: CLX)

For the nine months ended 31 March 2021, the company’s sales climbed 16.9% year on year to US$5.5 billion.

Excluding an asset impairment of US$329 million, net profit would have surged by 49.8% year on year to US$942 million.

When it comes to dividends, Clorox has paid out a consistently higher dividend over the last 15 years.

The annual dividend stood at US$1.12 back in 2005 but has nearly quadrupled to US$4.34 in 2020.

to me it is worth it. 1) 70% divys still in pocket. 2) i dun like large daily fluctuations of growth stocks. 3) i dunno how to see wht is the hot stock of the mth. 4) growth stock i nid to sell to realise the profits. divys are cash direct into accnt.
den i can use the cash to buy more stocks or for other uses.

of coz growth stocks the returns is better than div stocks. see which is good for yr own portfolio.
i oso hav growth/speculative stocks. but divy stocks is bigger % of my overall portfolio.

Agree. Dividend stocks give you constant stream of income, while you can only get $$$ in the pocket if you sell the growth stocks (assuming most growth stocks have little or no dividends).

Not a week seems to go by without Chinese regulators calling out tech companies for alleged offenses ranging from inconsistent pricing to imperiling user privacy to difficult working conditions. In May, China’s cyber regulator accused 105 apps, including short-video and job-recruitment apps, of illegally collecting and using personal data. It ordered the companies to fix their problems within three weeks or risk legal action.
