Questions!
1. Saw some of you recommending going cashless. Won't the bank exchange rate kill?
2. How much shopping would a regular guy do? Not that into branded, but will gian when a nice pair of sports shoes present itself
3. How much would i expect to spend a day at West Coast cities? Excluding gambling. i.e. how much would a decent meal cost?
haha Ranch is out of my budget. Chose Longstreet Inn cos i'm heading towards Vegas
1) Nope, the exchange rates on credit cards are usually fine (like 1-2% depending on your issuer). I always go cashless when I travel, except for like $100 for emergencies.
2) Sneakerhead? You're going to like Shiekh (
sic); they've got a store on Market Street in San Francisco and I'm unreliably informed that they have a pretty amazing range of limited editions. Anyway, you'd be surprised: I always used to do a ton of shopping when I lived in Singapore but was visiting the states; there's a lot of great menswear from local brands that you just can't get outside the country.
3) Expect to pay $30-$50 for a nice dinner in SF or LA; $15-25 elsewhere. Probably budget $100 a day for accommodation outside the big cities, and another $100 for miscellany; call it $200 USD a day and you'll be fine.
4) Oh hey, it's in Amargosa Valley - home of the
World's Largest Firecracker and the Area 51 Alien Center And Truck Stop.. You're going to get an interesting taste of rural Nevada.
