What Brands of merchandise is cheap in US?
Heading over to LA/ LV / SFO soon.

Thanks

Mostly the crappy mid end fashion brands are much cheaper in US. Like Michael kors, coach, Kate spaded etc. you will see lines of Asian tourists queuing for them at outlet malls.

At least Chanel, Prada etc are made in Italy/France. And they don’t do massive discounts even in Europe. Those coach, mk etc brands make in the same factories in China and selling them at premium goods price.

Unless you are going somewhere like Bumfrack, ID, getting pretty much any type of food in a major metro area in US is not a problem.

Don't bring meat product. You are risking serious fine.

you can always get it from their local at&t or tmobile store, some plans allow you to tether some does not. so check with their staff. Unless you have a jailborken iphone or rooted android which bypass the restriction.

AT&T from Qoo10 is working fine despite what the reviews said. I bought the 30-day cards. Hotspot ok. Roaming in Canada & Mexico as well no problem.

Qoo10's ICC said T-Mobile is OK. But generally no guarantees.

i using their ICC card T-Mobile in San Francisco & Austin during my business trip , no issue with their card for me. Data roaming super good. When i was on a lake tour in austin the data roaming still going strong.

USA cant bring in fruits. that the control items which i saw on a big notice board when q at the immigration counter.

i brought instant noodles there but if u can visit there super market for grocery that will be great food there are cheap when i compare to sg. u can get those microwave food if your hotel got refrigerator or microwave oven .

Each meal cost USD$2 to $3 dollar. I bought 10 days of these instant meal( steak, pasta , bake rice etc) for dinner during my business trip as location of my hotel hard to find food.

Ice cream like ben & jerry dame cheap in the supermarket. USD$4 each pint.

This might seem harsh but it's not wrong! The stuff you get at the outlet malls is not good quality stuff; it's basically the brands knocking off their own products, making low-quality stuff to target shoppers who think they're getting a bargain because they drove all the way to the outlet mall.

Outlet malls are a ripoff and a waste of time. You'll get better stuff by going to the brands' main stores.

What part of the country are you in? If you're in the Bay Area at least, you can find all that good stuff at most of the local supermarkets; there's plenty of specialist Asian groceries around where I am.

Hi all,

Anybody has any car rental company and car type to recommend for Hawaii? Will need rental for a few days each at Big Island, Maui and Kauai, able to sit 4 adults with space for 2 x medium luggage, 1 x big luggage. At first I was looking for a 7 seater MPV e.g. Toyota Wish so I can fold the last row seats for luggages. But I was not able to find similar ranges on the car rental website. Will sedans like Chevrolet Impala LT or Malibu be suitable? I do not need 4WD and prefer a rental company with clear up front cost (had some bad experience with car insurance add on before at Seattle). Also, does any of our travel insurance companies cover car rental insurance requirements?

Thanks.

Was in those places last dec, no issue getting a mini van or full size suv.
The Jeep wangler was pretty spacious. Oh I rental directly with national

Full size car maybe but don’t know which rental site u on, what I learnt these size car popular and best you make your reservation and not expect upgrade

Clear up front cost - which company did u go with last time? I don’t have issue with Hertz, enterprise, budget and national

I was mostly checking Expedia for car rental. My bad experience in Seattle was with Thrifty. My only other rental experience in US was with Hertz and a small company in Juneau and they were fine.

I checked National. Their site looks pretty clear and the minivan category should be suitable. It also sounds to me that all their four add-on PROTECTION PRODUCTS are optional.

Thanks for the tip on National. :)
