which ways is more advisable? If i take the LA to SF route, should i fly, drive or something else?

How many people going? How many drivers?

LA to LV about 4 to 5 hours drive, advisable to have 2 drivers or with more people keeping the driver awake. Recently, I was on a trip, got off the plane and drove 2 to 3 hours alone, LA to San Diego + small detour in LA. About 2 hour mark, I cmi liao, stopped at factory outlet, shopped awhile then continue. Note I've stayed in the US and have driven LA to LV non-stop myself but its a different story fighting jetlag (I can't really sleep on the plane type). I've an upcoming trip that might have a 3 hour drive on like day 4 or 5, which is when your jetlag gets quite bad. I'm already considering flying instead of driving myself. So do take note that long drives might be fine with people making sure the driver is awake or with people taking over driving duties after awhile, but try to avoid if you are not too familiar with long distance driving and with 1 driver plus the rest all sleeping.

Have been reading this thread from Page 1, and mostly about West Coast of US.
Anyhelp on Denver? Will be taggin my friend to Denver for a week next month. he will be going for conference, and I don't know what to do for the whole 8 days there!

Will be flying over to NYC after that. Is it advisible to drive from NYC to Niagara Falls or just take a flight ?

Thanks!

drive. you can cross to the canada side of the falls where the view is apparently much better. and cheaper too. alternatively, you can take a bus from NY(departs from chinatown if i'm not wrong?) to niagara falls.

Southwest comes with 2 FREE check in bags, each not exceeding 25kg I think... on top of that, you can still carry on board those small size luggages! I se most of the local dun carry much when they fly domestics as they are usually on business or short visit. So the airlines are not very particular with the luggages.

oh, it's Free sitting on board btw... so check in early to be able to board first.

That's because there's 2 FREE bags. Try those airlines with fee for even the first bag. Everyone try to carry on whatever they can to save on check in baggage fees. You will see no space on board when the flight is almost full, even in First class. Boarding early to get a space for your bags is a must.

Can any kind soul confirm this :-

1. Using SG issued credit card in US, they will need the name on the card match your passport. Is this true?

2. Coming back from US on SQ, they charge USD148 once you exceeded the alloawance check-in baggage weight of 20kg. Is this true? Is so hard not to exceed :(

Some places (ie factory outlet) would require a proof of identity when using credit card, it has become my habit to give ID + credit card when buying stuff. Not all places requires that.

Flights to/from US has a baggage allowance is 23kg per bag limit, with a 2 bag limit, more bags if you have *gold / PPS. SQ lets you pass if your 2 bags do not exceed a total of 46kg, I just flew back with like a 30kg bag and 1 light item, no extra charge, might not be true on other carriers.
