I'm going to both USA and Canada during my holiday. Is there any pre-paid SIM card that works in both countries, or do I need to buy one in each country?

For USA, is there any other data plans cheaper than H2O's $40 monthly unlimited? I'll be in US for about a week, probably 1GB will suffice.

In Canada, which SIM card should I get?

Thanks!

try your luck : http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/travel-bazaar-346/

Planning a 2 month visit to the U.S. in fall. Most of the time, I will be in NYC. I am planning to visit New Orleans and DC. Maybe fly down to Miami and drive down the keys. Anywhere else in the east would you guys suggest? Particularly, any nice national parks to recommend?

My alternative is to visit one or more of the carribean islands but prefer not to deal with immigration if possible.

To my knowledge most of the island pretty flexible with sg passport( no need go embassy and apply)

was checking it the last time with my gf. Also if you have a valid US visa, could also meet requirement

I've two drives in my trip.

One from Boston to Burlington, VT, about 6h drive if I remember correctly.
Another from Montreal to Niagara Falls, about an 8h drive.
For both routes, any stops along the way worth visiting? Or any tips for road trips?

Also, which museum in NY is worth visiting? I'll probably have time to visit one or two.

I'm renting a car from Hertz for my road trip. Is their NeverLost GPS good? I'll be relying on it for my journey, lol.

Thanks!

Have driven in NYC, Chicago with Garmin and they works fine btw tall buildings etc. no issue of losing GPS.

Google map - no signal issue not easier just more reliable

Just use what you used to, both system has their merits

My Garmin recal when traffic event changes which is a better feature than Google.

Depends on what you like, but a few good ones: the American Museum of Natural History is the big daddy; the Museum of American Finance (down on Wall Street) is underrated but very good; and the Morgan Library has a peerless collection of classic art if that's what you like.

Don't bother. It's cheaper to buy the Navigon iPhone app and use that instead.

Use Hertz GPS (they call never lost) in USA before. Very good and worth the money.

There's this recently launched ios/android app called HERE which is developed by Nokia that provides completely free worldwide, offline, turn-by-turn navigation.

Here is part of Nokia group in fact it's the navtaq the map content provider for Garmin and hertz.
I didn't find here good, they are new in this area and has a lot to learn and improve on

It would be easier if you can give us your international and domestic airlines, different airlines are supposed to let you alight at different terminals and each might have a different terminal for immigration and customs. Even on separate tickets, airlines might have interline agreement, to have your luggage tagged all the way.

2hrs and 40 mins quite risky IMO. I've went through within 15 minutes (United terminal CBP, US resident line, no check in luggage). I've also had luggage delayed (ie additional inspection) with long long line at customs (more than 1 hr to clear all). Sometimes you reach the immigration with very short queue, other times, you reach there with a very long queue already waiting. In addition to those, you should also cater for minor delays (up to 30 minutes) from your international flight. After clearing immigration and customs, you will then have to re-clear security to get into the terminal for domestic flight, which can have long lines for the general line.

That said, 2hrs and 40mins would be ridding on your luck. If other flights happen to be delayed / earlier such that they are just slightly in front of you, then immigration and customs would be packs, so might the delivery of luggages. Similarly, sometimes the airline's own terminal may be full or down and they direct you to another terminal / international terminal to clear immigration and customs.

You should be fine clearing immigration and customs, since you would be first off the plane in suites. However, do pray that all other flights are also on time so that immigration and customs will not be jammed packed even before arrival.

If you can thru check to Delta, you should be fine, otherwise, if you have no status on Delta and in economy, there might be a possibility of long queue for check in, plus check bag fee etc. As well as long queues for security. Do note that there should be priority queues for first class and elite passengers.
