A side topic, which broker you guys use for trading US stocks?

I used to be with TD Ameritrade but they stop serving non US client recently. So I transferred to their subsidiary -Thinkorswim. I am finding their app damn painfulto use. Any suggestions?

I say this every time, and people are probably sick of it, but: Interactive Brokers. Rock-bottom brokerage rates; terrific execution and a very good smart-router; incredibly competitive margin loan rates (Libor+150, decreasing to L+50 as your volume goes up); sensible and generous portfolio margining; and a huge range of products.

Actually, 30++ stocks is ok, not overly diversified. Diversification is good anyway. But ya, I can imagine it gets tough to keep track and react. Different time zone some more. Myself, ignoring mutual funds, I think I have like over 100 counters right now. Most of them managed by my bank side, I personally trade a max of around 10-20 stocks at any one time. Hard to keep up sometimes.

And let's hope BABA makes it to $150! :D

I say 30++ coz I don't want to scare others...but so far I haven't hit 100 yet, so you win. =)
And that is excluding my diversified SG counters.

Ethical investing?

there are so much money in this world for us to make.
i am pretty sure i can find other ways to invest without contributing to tobacco... nor companies that abuse animals (some cosmetic firms) or environment (*cough cough BP*)

now there is a great wave of divestment in fossil fuel companies. hope it works and shift more capital towards renewable ;)

Sorry, I invested in MO, and I absolutely would support no smoking in SG.
And as I'm in the green deeply from investing in MO, theoretically I'm taking $$ out of MO. I'm somewhere in the 60%+ gain. Just another $10 more and I can sell half and say I'm permanently taking $$ out of MO. How's that for supporting no smoking?

Despite the market Red currently, my IDRA, GILD, BLK and AAPL is making it a green for me. With IDRA up an impressive 9%, Power to the Pharmaceuticals and Big Blue chips.

For me AAPL, GILD, DIS, ATLS and MEIP is keeping me green. Highest has got to be AAPL and MEIP but that is due to volume of stock

That's why one must pick good counter which can be green even when the market goes red.

Sold my XLE at a tiny profit. Didn't took off despite oil rebounce. Since I have pretty bad timing, maybe XLE will shoot up. haha.

Isn't DIS red tonight?

DIS is red today, but still nice and green for me when I compare it to my buy price.

Yup, the capital Gain is nice.
Too bad it is the only counter I have in US that gives out 1 div per year... Hopefully someone can pressure them to give out quarterly.
