Went in on last Sat...surprising the custom officer took my fingerprint and say register already. Check online yesterday, shows not eligible for e-gate. Today tried using e-gate cannot go through. At manual counter ask what happen...tell me now system offline. Make me blur...but anyway not a very long queue today. Will try again some other time.
Recall if you check immeidately after submitting MDAC, the system will show "eligible to use e-gate" one.

When u check for e-gate eligibility, first you must submit Mdac Registration indicating your date of arrival , only then you can your e-gate eligibility.
That's how the system works.

Just sayin'...

Sometimes I wonder if due to all the asking day in and day out, they'd just give you standard replies like "system down" or "registered already" coz "system down" you'll end up asking "then when" thus wasting more of their time, while "registered already" will get you off their back because there's a long queue and you won't want to join the queue again there and then.

Everyday so many people asking the same question. Can you imagine being one of those officers sitting there and being asked so many times during your 8 or 10-hour shift?

No, I've no solution for you. Just your luck for not doing it earlier and/or when the exchange rates weren't that favorable to you.

They should probably imagine why their management planned this so terribly that their customers have to always ask them (kastam) about the status. :)

We are probably more on the ball than their management on this issue. :ROFLMAO:

I'd imagine they're doing something backend, that those officers at the counters won't know the details since their job has got next to nothing otherwise, to do with the eGates.

Once again, the eGate registration is basically verifying the passport and stamping, and fingerprint scanning. Yup, nothing out of the norm from what they've been doing before.

So back then some SG 🤡🤡🤡 were laughing away asking why need to scan fingers when going through the eGates only scan passport then face.

Well, who cares, really. IMO I do what they want and the eGates work for me. Just say Thank You and pass through, continue with the day/days' activities.

Why the need to criticize their processes and then when they down the system to do godknowswhat, then come and ask and ask and ask when when when...

Not as if they've stopped anyone from going across because of eGate registration

If nobody cares, there won't be a thread and you won't be posting in this thread. :)

No news yet

If you are already going in for leisure etc, then always do the steps in case the system is ready.

Successful registered egate last month. Went in stamped, came back using egate no issue. Today wanted to register for coming trip. Everything received (email for MDAC) but check "Check Egates Eligibility Status".... Show this message:
You are not eligible to use the e-gate facility. Please proceed to the manual counter.

😤😤😤😤😤😤😤 So can use or cannot use 😒😒😒😒😒😒😒

Register today and able to use egate immediately after that.

However, only two counter (extreme left) is open for fingerprint registration and each person take about 5mins to register, many try two to three tries before fingerprint accepted and saw at least 4 was turn away due to fingerprint issue. About 20 pax Infront of me and waited about 1.5hrs before my turn.

The egate vendor was onsite today.
There are many that got turned away after the vendor tried to add manually.
Some even take your passport go to another area to do it separately.
When ppl ask, you immigration officer? Why you take my passpott?
Then they call an officer there to escort the vendor with their passport lol

When those people were being turned away due to finger print problem, did the same officer stamp their passports or did they have to go join another queue?
