few months back, haven't look up at JB face scan can also clear. maybe they update their algorithms liao i think face scan check frame of face. kid grow fast, so difference between 12 & 17 must be significant

They only have level 1 checked. Thats why within 2 seconds one may exit. Unlike kiasu kiasi ica auto lane.

Yes there's a receptacle for finger on the right side, flush with the same color as the hardware - hard to notice.

In theory since she (& I) registered with forefingers, I presume, she has to place the same finger in the slot. Previously I've been using thumbs, but I don't place any fingers there anymore.

In my opinion MY's E-Gate Biometrics Verification is a sham, just a modicum of verification.

So best to remove spectacles (& of course mask), ensure whole face is shown in the rectangle frame shown on the display screen. For example for me when using the E-Gate after coming in from the bright sunlit corridor my specs is tinted & usually I get rejected if I don't remove my specs. When my specs is not tinted I've no issues passing thru.

Questions to you: did she try once more ie re-scan passport & re-enter E-Gate? What was the Message displayed when she was rejected, facial failed or proceed to Manual?

I would retry a few times... sometimes there are issues with the system.
As I said I've been rejected due to my tinted lens & was successful after re-scan passport & re-using E-Gate.

I wouldn't call it a sham. Maybe a bluff. It is unlikely they have funds to procure good systems and machines. Even their National database Padu was developed by civil servant instead of contracting it to vendors as they have limited funds. Good kastam workers at the counters, just lousy planners at the top.

Previous upgrading advisory, before the upgrading was postponed, affected everything for human traffic including E-Gate, registering for E-Gate etc

Just want to share if you plan to register egate at klia 1. Go to counter 53 and 54 (msian only counter) straight. I think no time limit like jb because I did it at 9pm. All other foreigner counter system down cannot register. Me and bunch of foreigners all had to requeue, nightmare. Lol

Registration was a breeze just smile and be friendly. Done in less than a minute. Then they ask u go to autogate straight to test. Works immediately. Dont even need to use chop for first time then only use egate next time.

And once again, please don't tell the officer at the counter that you want to register for MDAC. You don't have to physically be anywhere special to register MDAC; you just need to have access to the website, on your mobile device or whatever.

You go to the counter to register for eGate access aka MACSv2.

Fella infront of me changed name they tell her her old name and new name, hence mismatch cannot.

Generally the passport scanning takes longer (about twice as long) compared to the facial/eye scan on the e-gates.

Registered for egate previously before the special dedicated MDAC counter. Thought don’t need to fill online MDAC however when I went yst w/o filling up, it shows passport verification error. Quickly filled up and managed to go through
