Mine is only few days old. Trying to get a hold of it. Hope to give my best for my precious baby. Just felt v lost and it doesn’t help that the nanny agency Confinement angels cock things up. From the day my wife difacharged till a day later nanny have yet to come.

Thank you so much for offering your help. Really appreciate it.

1. Is it we really must do Cup feeding?
2. If baby sleep beyond their feeding time do we wake them up? We feed with formula milk first as breast milk not yet ready.

Could it be that you are accidentally pouring a bit of milk into your baby's mouth? This might be causing the choking.

remb to spend some time play with your precious. Now my boy soon to be 5yo I miss the times when he was still a baby. Felt that I didnt spend enough time with him back then.

Dont worry too much, baby are tough little creature. Just give him milk sleep then change his diapers only. Very fast will reach 6months then he will climb around crawl around liao.
The milk part dun worry, the most bottle-feed your baby if u think he drink not enough. My wife and I gave up on the 2nd or 3rd day cause no milk XD

Thanks all. Yes I did cup feeding at the hospital and was very pissed. Thus at home I used the pigeon soft touch close to nipple kind of nursery bottle to feed.

Since hospital time I had little food and sleep mentally and physically exhausted. Will try to do what I can to support my wife while at times helpless.

Yes its normal.
Wife just gave birth too and our boy turned 4 mths old today.

At the start, i felt helpless too till the point that i wanted to extend our confinement nanny for another month. We don't have in-laws to look after so we are caring him 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Yes, its tired. But the guys are right, your baby's stage is drink, sleep and poo.
What i can say is, don't think too much because it gets better each day. And yes, trial and error.

Don't worry, babies are tough, contrary to what it has been said.

Jia you!

Isit still greenish poo? I guess normal poop would be brownish kind. The colour of the poop will tell you many things

By making noises you mean crying? Its normal to cry, thats how babies communicate. Very fast in 2 or 3 months your little one can go join other babies and play liao (Infantcare)

You can try to swaddle the baby tighter because the baby is used to the environment when he/she is in the mummy's womb and they feel more secure this way.

Crying is a norm for baby. When i had my kids, we used to feed them every 2 hrs via milk bottle because somehow both do not like to latch.

Hope my suggestion can help you.

Afew mths later when u see them smile and laugh you will feel that all the things you have endure is totally worth it.

I did bottle all the way. And if baby sleep, let he/she sleep. Baby will auto wake up if hungry.

the amazing things about babies is that even if they are sleeping,, they can still drink milk without affecting their sleep.

Monitor the poo a bit n change milk powder if got difficulty poo-ing n hard stools. It may take a bit trial n error before u find the most suitable milk powder for your baby. Buy small tin to try first.

It is normal for newborn to be feeding every couple of hours cos stomach small. Do take turns with your wife to feedn take care of baby so both of u can get some rest.

for me the most difficult issue to overcome was actually if you have enough sleep or enough personal time. Obviously you and wife would take turns to take care your kid but it is inevitable that sometimes you or her would want more time to sleep or to do stuff then quarrels will happen.

So make sure to communicate well both ways so strains in relationship can be kept to the minimum.
