ANyone knows if honghan guesthouse offers free airport pickup services? Also is it good to travel to Dalat n mekong delta without any tour package?

I dont think they offer free pick-up service for guest house. I know 3 star hotel and above offer free pick up. Anyway you can request for pickup by them , they will charge you a small sum of fee. If you know the place , just go to the taxi stand from the airport and take a cab it will be cheaper. But if you are not familiar, just ask for pickup, few dollars extra paid to get some 1 to look out for you is worth it.

Is it a good period to travel around vietnam from mid sep to early oct?
how is the weather then? rainy, flood prone?

i m planning for a long break to travel around vietnam for about 2 weeks or so...

planning to go Spore => Hanoi => Halong Bay => Hanoi => Hoi An => Nha Trang => Dalat => HCM => Spore.

btw how can i get to Hoi An from Hanoi or even i can skip hanoi to go from halong bay to Hoi An?
I was also thinking whether to drop Dalat from the trip and go direct from Nha Trang to HCM.

thanks for all constructive advices...

You didnt mention what primarily transport u plan on taking.

Hanoi - > Hoi An (By plane Hanoi -> Danang - > Hoi An or via overnight train Hanoi -> Danang -> take cab to Hoi An.

for transfer to Hoi An from Halong bay, you'd probably need to check with the local agents in halong bay. but most transfers to Hoi An are done usually by flight or train from Hanoi

its rainy season now atm..

Nope, but you can get them to arrange pickup at about US$14+/-. Otherwise get a cab from the airport to the place, quite fast and cheaper. Recently my cab fare fm airport to there was about 120k VND.

taxis just take the vinasun or malinh taxi, and do make sure the meter is turned on

ah for those in vietnam now, you should get higher exchange rate when u change your sgd or usd to vietnam dong :)

so we can use SGD to change vietnam dong directly there? I thought the money changer only accept USD and the higher the face value of the note the better the exchange rate given.
but do we still need USD then?

Just back from HCMC, overall a nice trip. Food and shopping are cheap.

Airport transfer - I only take Vinasun taxis. Btw 110k-130k depending on traffic.

Can change money in goldsmith or money changrs shop in HCMC. Rates are better to chg from USD-VND and SGD-VND there.

All shops accept VND.

Go Ben Tham mkt must bargain else will be chopped like carrot head :o

I can't find any clean Vietnamese massage btw 100k-200k range tho :(

so there is no need for the change of USD as there is no need of USD at any point of time?
