I was wondering why is Sinh Tourist charging such a cheap fee as compared to the tour operators that hotel uses. Can they be trust? Any hidden charges?

Going for 1 day Mekong tour and half day Cu Chi tunnel tour.

I always use them, till now no problem. If you dun trust this sinh tourist, there is no other agency u can trust. They are like popular chan bro in SG.

prices for tours offered by the (mid-range or high-end) hotels are always inflated. it's the same everywhere.

now heres the trick..i'm not gonna spend a lot.. max is about $200 for the whole trip.

Will not do any shopping AT ALL.. and looking for rooms that can accomodate for 2 at around $10 night?.. went to thailand on those kind of budgets and i figure its more than enough for veitnam.

Lets say if we did get join a tour guide for sapa.. whats the cheapest option.. probably gonna spend 2 nights in sapa at most.

btw, update for Elios Hotel, Standard rooms are now no window rooms, all superior rooms and above are with windows, whose who previously already booked for standard rooms with windows already will be automatically upgraded to superior rooms foc....

i'm not talking about breakfast at hotel kind of accomodation.. more like khao san road kind of accomodation.

i'm not a fussy traveller.. dont mind buying a loaf of bread there and eating that for the whole trip for breakfast. And definitely wont be going to any fancy restaurants to eat. As i said.. i wanna go there and see the place.. not do any shopping... my friends who have been there said theres nothing much to see other than historical stuff

mind u i am going with my gf so that means we have total about $400+ to use for 1 week stay at vietnam.

Ah boy....dun dream, it is time to wake up. 400 in BKK is ok.... now u r dreaming of going Halong Bay and Sapa which is not in Hanoi. I dun want to wake you up from your dream, 2 persons, 240 for Sapa, 120 for Halong, you and your ger ger left with 40. Taxi tru and fro from airport 40. You left with with nothing to eat to sleep to pee n sxxx. Dun tell me you gonna beg on the street for food, sleep, pee n sxxx in the public.

When ppl kindly advise you, you dun accept the fact then why asked?? Time to wake ah boy. Dun think your 400 is bigger than cow wheel. If you dun believe us and want to prove us wrong, why not you bring your cow wheel 400 to Hanoi and try?? If you survive Hanoi, Sapa 3 nights 2 days and Halong 2days 1 night with 400 for 2 persons, I personally will buy you a meal and drinks in Hanoi. Dun worry, I stay in Hanoi, anytime I can buy you a meal.

I also dreaming of spending 200 in Europe... Can you advise me how??

Working.... doubt will convert to hanoian. Holding red passport and enjoying life here. As 1 of my friends said, he is like a bird in Vietnam, everything also "chip chip" (cheap cheap).....

if so ok here is the min i can think of for 7 day week, stay 2 nite in hanoi, 2 nite in sapa, 1 nite in halong bay, 2 nite on overnite train

2 x 3 usd to take transport from airport to hanoi = 6 usd

2 x 4 usd per bed x 2 nite = 16 usd

3 meals in hanoi, 3 x 1 usd x 2 person x 3 days = 18 usd

2 x nite train ticket to lao gai to get to sapa = 6 usd x 2 = 12 usd (hard wooden seats and you squeeze with all the vietnamese)

2 x 1.5 usd transfer bus to sapa = 3 usd

last i know, dun have dorm bed in sapa

so 2 x 8 usd x 2 days = 32 usd

3 meals in sapa = 3 x 1.5 usd x 2 person x 2 days = 18 usd

2 x nite train ticket back to hanoi + bus transfer = 15 usd

Last nite is 1 x nite on halong bay boat, this one die die have to take tour or else you good luck going to halong bay

Average 60 usd per person so 120 usd

bus back to airport = 6 usd

mineral water x 14 1.5 litre bottle = 7 usd

Total 253 USD for 2 person = $354

hmm comment on what i posted above, $354 for 2 person. Doable i say.

I personally went solo, eat basic, drink plain water,totally no xe om bike or taxi rides in hanoi, overnight on the most expensive soft bed cabin return trip nite train,solo private air con room in hanoi and sapa + sapa trip expenses + halong bay + xe om bike ride to silver waterfall + 1 day trip to bac ha sunday mkt and i spent only bout $250-270 for 10 days trip last year October. His 7 days even easier to meet $200 budget if he goes abit more budget than me. Need lots of planning only to find the best value for $$.

Is the North+ South vietnam or South + central more advisable? Basically i wanna explore 2 different regions of vietnam in 7 days haha...

Also, wanna ask if Vung tau is worth going, if not i can save one day to visit other places...

U have my admiration to tour this way. 1 usd per meals almost every days, strong tummy. Eat sleep sxxx like the poor local. Anyway the way u phase it, 7 days are not enough. Cos from Hanoi to Sapa and back u need either 2 days or nights in the train. And everything has to be very well plan and right on the spot. Else u will be in Vietnam for more than 7 days.

Plan A looks decent, not rushing... Plan B a bit rush. Plan C is not possible.
I will suggest a night in Vung Tau will be good. Nice seafood.
