sentsggirls, for air tix wise i think it depends when ur going.. but i see nowadays they promote air tix for 2012 more.. u can keep a lookout for jetstar though cuz every fri 11am to 3pm they haf a special promo..

toRRez, i know right? so slow! sometimes they are super fast like within 10mins then there are times when i wonder if the company is still around.. HAHA!

veryred, nope i've yet to book my hotel yet.. i've emailed them to clarify some doubts though.. i'm more incline to beautiful saigon hotel 1 as i've read the reviews over here and it seems like the most popular.. i'm thinkin of juz going on the day itself to book.. HAHA but i guess i'll see how it goes..

the prices for tiger are weird
i just checked, to travel to HCm from last 2 week of oct is dirt cheap to and for , per pax is 86 only

and for nov period is 100+

usually pple book early is more cheap but is more expensive.

i am going on mid nov 16 to 21
will is better if i wait during nov period then book ?

Tiger has raw fare and sale fare. The later date may be raw fare, so you may have to check again if they have sale fare for the later date.

sentsgirls, you're traveling in the second half of november. of course, it'll be more expensive because it's the end-of-year holidays. the longer you wait to book your airfares, the more expensive it'll be.

I wish to go to Hanoi in Mid November as the weather should be quite cooling during that time.

I am trying to have a 5 day/4 night stay in Hanoi.

I hope to go sapa and Halong Bay.... Is it too rush for 5 days /4 night trip?

Share with you my backpack experience at Sapa.

i took tiger airways and air ticket cost SGD332, I brought about SGD200 & USD100 to Hanoi. USD changed in SG while Dong changed at Noi Bai Airport.

Buy their local train ticket (LC2 & LC1) to Lao Cai for about 660,000Dong at the same day I arrived. do note that this local train ticket is not those victoria express.

Arrived at Sapa look for those USD 10 and below hotel to stay. I stayed at a 8USD hostel though quite off the main street but dont mind the walking as Sapa is all about trekking and hiking =)

If i remember correctly, a 2D1N homestay at their local village is about USD 20++ per head depend on the itinerary. you can either bk at the hotel (most of them will provide) or at some reputable travel agency which will be abit more expensive

Too bad that time weather is bad if not i will trek up to Mt. Fansipan

if got time go to Tram Ton Pass the highest mountain pass in Vietnam. Do bring extra clothing as the temperature there is quite cold and possible wear glove if you took xe ôm (motobike taxi).
