Just take a cab, it's very affordable, less than 20 sgd and you be in benh thanh. Book hotel from there and ask for discount. Even if there is no discount the small 3 stars hotel average cost less than 80 per day.

yes i do bring my mobile as i keep all the street maps & trip information for referencing from time to time, as i usually like to venture into small alley / roads.

i follow simple rules to keep it safe
- keep in separate pouch in my day pack (double protection! )
- stay away from street side or crowded area when i need to use
- always keep into bag once i'm done

saigonhotpot seems like good move for tourists to mingle with young Vietnamese volunteers. as a nice gesture for their efforts, i would surely get a gift for volunteer guide if i had join their tour.

From TSN airport to Ben Thanh about VND160K incl 10K airport tax. 3 stars hotel less than SGD50 can get, abundance.

one sim card should cost under 100k dong. anything more than that would be tourist price. check vinaphone or mobifone websites. they have english versions too.
