I'm thinking of going Vietnam for a short holiday (4-5days). Only been to hue before. Should I go HCMC or Hanoi? Personally I like natural sceneries. Not much a city and shopping person. Will be going with my fiancee.

Hanoi is the better choice. If natural scenery appeals to you, make the excursion to Halong Bay from there. Or Sapa if you can afford more time.

also have bath tub, just that not as grand as intercon

Currently, M1 has an ASEAN data passport arrangement with GTEL Mobile for data roaming.

https://www.m1.com.sg/personal/roam...passport&ici=home-asean-launch#dp25ASEANtable

Just wondering if anyone has tried this before and how's the connectivity and internet speed like?

Thanks for sharing.

$25 ASEAN Data Passport and use your own data plan... not worth it... just get the simcard from the HCMC airport about VND 105K unless you going to multi city within ASEAN for that month...

Just to share on my experience using the M1 data passport for Vietnam.

The data network is only on EDGE which is 2.75G
(https://www.quora.com/What-are-the-differences-between-1G-2G-3G-4G-and-5G)

As such, the experience in using it to surf net can be quite painful at times, especially when we are so used to 4G network speed.

Planning to go Nha Trang in late May.
Any recommended hotel, itinerary and mode of transport :D

there will be 4 adults, a 6yrs old girl and a 1 yr old baby girl.
is flying from hcm better or to go by private car (rented toyota fortuner)
baby girl has just passed a 6-8hrs trip to Ha Tien with flying colors :s12: on the same Fortuner .. as long as in her mama's arms. Of course will have many stops along the way... just that the likely 10hrs trip will be a bit taxing and time consuming and may cost more than the flight.

For lodging, prefer to be near to the beach and city centre
Anyone stay in those beach apartment before? how is it?

Thanks

Flight from hcm only takes you one hour. To go Nha Trang tourist area, you need to take a bus from cam ranh airport, takes around 30 mins. A ticket costs 50,000, includes baggage as well. You can tell the bus conductor your hotel and they will drop you. I stayed in Asia paradise hotel, a three star hotel. Near us have liberty central and legend sea, both fours stars. My hotel is near the beach. Hotel pool is small. The hotel most expensive room is located very near the swimming pool, hence to me personally, i don't see the exclusivity of the expensive room.

Hello! What's there at danang? How is the cost like compare to hcmc & Hanoi?

Other than halong bay what else is nice in Hanoi? Hanoi air ticket is much more ex than hcmc

Cat Ba Island is like a mini Halong Bay without the tourists.
Maybe you can check it out!

can share which bank? what u need? I very interested!

timo.vn

need passport, vn mobile number.

there are a few steps that you need to take care:

1. sign up not more than one day before your departure. if you sign up too early, they will call you on your vn number to arrange kyc appointment. you dont want to pickup the call or you will incur international roaming charges.

2. upon your arrival in sg or hn, you can call their toll free number from your local mobile. because of caller id, they will know who you are immediately. you can make appointment for the same day about one hour or more ahead of time. they need time to print your atm card and prepare paperwork so dont show up without an appointment. once kyc is completed, you can pickup your atm card and pin number slip.

I suggest you take flight. Do not waste time on the car since you have kids. It's pretty cheap to travel to Nha Trang via Vietjet (if got promo fare). Since your baby girl is an infant, the fare is very minimal. There are many choices of hotel in Nha Trang depending on your budget. I recommend staying along or near Tran Phu street to give you full access to food and you can just cross the road to the beach. You can try VinPearl Nha Trang water park. Paid 650K/pax for cable car and admission ticket there.
