WiFi at hotels are OK. But you can buy a data Sim card for just over 6sgd at the airport.Turn left after exiting custom and go to the last shop with a blue sign. Vina- phone I think.

Ppl advised me to change money in Vietnam and I got much better rates there. Bring sgd and change there , don't change too much as you can't do much with leftover dong except give it away or return to Vietnam. We changed just a 100 sgd here in spore for taxi etc but but if you Uber, you can wait until you get to town to change money. My grab/Uber bills charged to my card were really minimal. Just a few dollars. Once you have cash you stop paying by card.

At this rate 16,200 its a good rate. The best rate in hcmc is only 100vnd more.

What abt my plan with ?
Any recommendation

meals: explore around and when you see a vendor or restaurant that you like, go in and try. imho, even the lousiest vietnamese food in viet nam tastes much better than the best vietnamese food in singapore. if you are a little picky, install and use the foody app to check ratings and reviews.

how much better? from my experience, the rates are the same. it is very easy to say, "you will always get more there" :)

I didnt go to arcade to change money. Local money changer gave me 15000 for 1 sgd. HCM got 16 200. Made a diff for me.

Also didnt want to carry a wad of vietnamese cash,so changed as I needed money. A couple of hundred dollars each time. Spore they also give big denominations, all 500.000. I like getting smaller value notes in HCM.

Pay for hotel, splurge out meals etc with card.

Depends on your interest. Military history? Go see cui cui tunnels. Culture? Catch a performance at the Opera House or Water Puppet Theatre. Services? Go for spa, massage etc but the level of expertise is not that great. Book a cooking course for an afternoon if you are interested. I have done cooking lessons in thailand, europe etc and find them fun. Mekong Delta exploration is best not rushed. I didnt do it as I was with my family but I'd prefer to do at least a 2 day trip if not longer. I enjoyed shopping for lacquerware but the quality is not that good.

Its not so bad like 15,000 at arcade. More like 16,000. 15,000 probably from neighbourhood changers

For vietnamese to go taiwan tour, they need a visa. They have to declare how much they have in bank account. Anyone knows the minimum amount ?

kinda hard if they are travelling independently. they wouldn't give tourist visa to my vn friends who studied and graduated in taiwan, until they provided a local guarantor.
