i have long suspected that wealthy vietnamese are *stashing* their money in singapore.

this may also be the reason why money exchangers in sing always have ample supply of dong.

when usd is strong, dong is also strong so the urge to move money out of the country becomes higher. hence the demand for big denom sing dollars.

1 piece 1000 SGD note = 1 thick stack of 35 pieces 500k VND notes. hehe which one easier to bring along? =)

Also, this Crown Exchange, usually they dont have long queues. They are not particularly good in any currency. Their rates at 16,720 much higher than the nearest competitor. I think they either priced it wrongly or when u go down, they say they have no more VND.

Happens before. I actually saw a new moneychanger. They calculated their VND wrongly. Some one yum them 2k sgd. After that i told them their rates too high. They rechecked and revised much lower.

Ya Haja T&T too, after go there, they quote lower citing rates changes. But generally very good rates, no need to go HCM to change already, rate can match Ha Tam/Mai Van already. I changed 2-3 weeks ago at 16,670 at The Arcade.

LOL...too many digits until they blur.

but some people believe that you will always get more from ha tam...no matter how good is the rate in singapore.

I used to think like that but not anymore, rate here getting very attractive too. But main concern is bringing lots of VND into Vietnam. May have issue with custom.

Anyone knows what's the limit? VND 100m ok? I heard the limit quite low. I brought in SGD40K no issue.

Really expensive, S$1166 for 5 days per pax. You didn't compare price meh?

Too ex, that's why I don't go to tour agency here.

I bought SQ tickets there with a local Hanoi agent handles my 7 days itinerary, 2 free days, total 9 days. Free 1 day city tour and 2-way airport transfers. Include 1 night 4 star cruise and 4 nights of 4 star hotels, overnight 2-way train tickets and all attraction tickets like gondola at Fansipan Peaks etc. 90% meals. Total also about 1.2K per pax.

If I want to do a Mekong Delta tour (one day) and Vung tau (beach with Jesus mountain, Buddha status) and seafood tour (another day), which local agent will you all recommend?

Does Vietnam food usually have beef, cheese, etc? I cannot eat these, but unsure if I can understand the menu.

Simply, if the item says bò, beef is in the ingredient. Cheese is not common.
gà = chicken, heo = pork.
