Just booked a package 5D4N to Hanoi and Halong Bay in March for 4 next year March with Dynasty Travels at the Natas Fair. 4 star hotels and Travelling by SQ so a bit expensive. About S$3500 for 3 adults( they considered my 12 year old an adult?) and 1 child.

Guys careful when exchange money at the hcm airport once you exit from the custom, the calculator got modify one.

That's right. I ever kanna before. Lose about 400k dong. It seems like they had already input a formula into the memory function of the calculator.

Yes you are right. Than I use my calculator in my phone to show them, they straight say there is a bank charges of certain percentage. I fug them than they return me say don't change with me already.

Its not that their calculator got problem. Its how they press it. Before changing any money, just need to ask them "any commissions?". if they say have, walk away to another one.

16,730 good rate. Ha Tam dont publish. Can call. But i havent seen Ha Tam lower than Arcade before.

Also, this Crown Exchange, usually they dont have long queues. They are not particularly good in any currency. Their rates at 16,720 much higher than the nearest competitor. I think they either priced it wrongly or when u go down, they say they have no more VND.
Happens before. I actually saw a new moneychanger. They calculated their VND wrongly. Some one yum them 2k sgd. After that i told them their rates too high. They rechecked and revised much lower.
Also, if u change frequently, Ha TAM has a spread between SGD 50 notes and SGD 1000 note.
When USD is super strong, and the 100 note SGDVND rate is say 16,000, HA TAM can gve 16,050 for 1000 note.
But now USD is super weak and 100/1000 note SGDVND is same same 16,720.
i have long suspected that wealthy vietnamese are *stashing* their money in singapore.
this may also be the reason why money exchangers in sing always have ample supply of dong.
when usd is strong, dong is also strong so the urge to move money out of the country becomes higher. hence the demand for big denom sing dollars.
