I tailored my suit in hanoi at less than half the price of what three Singapore tailors quoted me. In terms of worksmanship and cloth quality, I was quite satisfied. I did some research beforehand so I knew what I wanted and where I wanted to tailor my suit at (i.e. https://www.tripadvisor.com.sg/Attraction_Review-g293924-d4178732-Reviews-Bambou_Silk-Hanoi.html).

Sadly, no recommendations for boat/cruise. Until today, I don't know if I got a good deal or if I overpaid... But regardless, Halong Bay is worth a night. Unforgettable sunrise and sunset.

As you only have 7 days, I suggested combining cu chi tunnels and mekong delta. Spending one whole day at the Mekong and squeezing cu chi tunnels the day before means you have less time to cover the war remnants museum, reunification palace, ben thanh market in HCMC, which isn't ideal.

Also, Vietnam, as a former french colony, has very value for money french fine dining. Like all fine dining experiences, this can't be rushed. I recommend this for lunch (https://www.tripadvisor.com.sg/Rest...d1953023-Reviews-Ty_Coz-Ho_Chi_Minh_City.html) and this for dinner (https://www.tripadvisor.com.sg/Rest...Villa_French_Restaurant-Ho_Chi_Minh_City.html). Reservations recommended for both. Reserve early for the second one.

We will be going for 9D to Hanoi/Sapa/Halong Bay/Ninh Binh in end Nov. Cruise is Glory Legend but can only provide review after trip.

Mine is USD583 per pax (excl airtic) by a reputable local agency, 6 nights hotel 3/4* (also has transit hotel if required), 1N cruise, 2 overnight Orient Express train to/fro Lao Cai (Sapa). Meal 100%. All entry tickets (if have) included. 2 half-day city tour of Hanoi. Private coach through out with tour guide. Cable car to Fansipan Peak. Day trip to Ninh Binh with boat ride.

I chose this agency bcos of their service, paid attention to details and our needs even before I mentioned as he understands well what a group with young kids and old folks may need.

Comm is via whatsapp and email and he comms in very good english.

Much better than tigerair or jetstar. Stewardess cuter, not those old aunties u find on tiger/jetstar.

But very mafan at TSN airport, no aerobridge, have to wait and take a connecting coach to the plane or terminal. Plane is older and seat quite tight. I would still prefer JS if price is right. Also is budget and only 1hr plus flight..why bother with service.

if tigerair or jetstar, from SIN to HCMC, sometimes also no aerobridge especially in nov and dec. Seat is more spacious for Vietjet. Think they using new planes now.

i didn't get to use aerobridge even when flying vietnam airlines. tsn has chronic capacity problem. tsn can be as big as changi, but unfortunately the reserve land on the northern end of the airport has been taken over by the military and turned into a golf resort.

so the idea of a new airport at long thanh has been mooted. once the airport is relocated, the cronies can lay their hands of the piece of prized real estate in the city.

Hmm, I rmb taking Jetstar from hcm to Singapore have the bridge, that is when I can see the passengers from sg arriving in hcm, then we hcm passenger go and board the plane.. but then, bridge or no bridge, awaiting flight back to Singapore is the most Sian feeling :(
