singapore airline promotions $238, $278, $298
prices varies , depending on the promo ...
sometimes sq put $238, few weeks later becomes $298, then back to $238

You should consider Singapore tour agencies. Several provide such tour packages where air tickets, accommodation and transportation is taken care of. Most of them are located in the Chinatown area.

would book air tickets and hotels free easy on our room

For day tour, would just book from their travel agencies ...

1. vnd. usd only for bigger transactions like hotels and tour agencies but they do accept vnd as well.

2. not sure how much your budget is. i stayed a noble swan boutique and spa, about sgd 70+/night for the second best room. a lot of cheaper rooms in hanoi don't have windows. for fire safety, better to get a room with windows.

3. think you might be able to find the info online. i saw before while surfing around, could be TA or what.

4. can try bahn mi 25, highly reviewed on google. was closed when i went in may so didn't get to try. cafe dihn for egg coffee. remember to stir before drinking, it's damn sweet otherwise. for good viet restaurant, i recommend hanoi food culture, good food at reasonable prices and highly rated on google.

then pizza 4ps if you miss some western food. there is also this bigish ice-cream stall at trang tian there is popular with the locals. it's near the french quarter, you should pop by if you have time.

5. i find it not worth the effort, not really spectacular but as mentioned, it is a UNESCO site in it's own right, though there are others like trang an as well.

VND. USD keep as backup currency.

Halong bay and sapa are worth going. But do take note of the travelling time required.

For food, best to ask the locals. Food stalls heavily advertised online may not be as tasty as it seems.
There are aplenty of budget hotels in old quarter... Probably look at their ratings and choose accordingly

another option is to take the vietnam airlines shuttle bus
uses the new highway so much faster

ends at Quang Trung street (though i read you can ask them to drop you along the way) which is south of Hoan Kiem Lake
Old quarters is just north of Hoan Kiem Lake

40,000vnd/seat/way, not sure price has changed

1. is Jan consider low/shoulder/peak in Hanoi? coz thought want to book the local tours on arrival rather than from SG. heard it's much cheaper to book in Hanoi compared to online

2. any must buy from hanoi? heard shopping is not as cheap as HCMC...

4. recommendation for bd celebration venue in Hanoi? is there good french food like the La Villa in HCMC?

If it is purely moving around, You can just book a minibus at the airport after you cleared the customs and collected your luggage

Otherwise you can go to Saigon tourist website
