note that many hotels would "enlarge" their hotel sizes on the website ...
even though on agoda, expedia, booking.com etc ...
their room size normally is "enlarged" by 20% to 30%
For example, 24m2 room might be only 20m2 ...

Stayed eden stars 4* hotel before, their deluxe room is 28m2 ...
in the end, room seems only about 22m2 ...
stayed before many hotels , their size is not actually the same as what was advertised. this is their common practice across many hotels ...

Another thing is that you can always verify the photos of the rooms with reviews on Expedia, TripAdvisors etc

Book what you are comfortable with...

in HCMC there are "Ben Thanh" and "Binh Thanh", but no "Benh Thanh"

don't know why people are mistaken between Ben Thanh and Benh Thanh?

Can the Grab app be used in Hanoi?

Was thinking of just using the app to take from the airport to Old Quarters.

Planning to visit Hanoi during Cny period for 6days.

For old quarter and sapa, what are the recommended hotel or location to stay?

Any recommended halong bay cruise for 2d1n? It is better to book online or through the agency there?

Thanks alot!

By right public holiday period can be very expensive ...
However, for this year national day public holiday,
u can get 9aug to 12aug to hanoi at $260+ if u book at least one month in advance ... flying by vn airline ... sq prices were about 500+

i stay at aira boutique in sapa, and essence hanoi (their sister hotel), upon check-in they gave me complimentary upgrade of rooms for both hotels

staff are both hotels are very attentive and polite, their breakfast menu rather similar, book direct with them

there are plenty of hotel options in hanoi as compared to sapa :)

I see. Thanks for your recommendation. I was thinking whether to try homestay in sapa anot.

Will be planning 2d1n in halong bay, 2 or 3 days in sapa and 1 or 2 days in hanoi. Since most probably going 6 days only.

Is old quarter very huge area? Afraid tat i book too far from the main area.

Thinking of going to Hanoi + Ninh Binh + Mai Chau + Halong Bay day trip for 7/8 days. I heard that Mai Chau is a good alternative to Sapa.

Is this plan feasible?

Old quarter is big, maybe you can book near the cathedral. Got a starbucks across the road. The lake area ok also.
