if you intend to use Grab or FastGo or any driver-hailing app...

Do expect the driver to call you to verify your exact pickup location and also let you know his/her ETA. I will usually ask my business client or hotel staff or eatery staff to help me

I have no issue with the Grab booking on my recent Hanoi trip, only twice I booked during peak hours and they stuck in the jam when trying to pick me up, so they canceled my booking.

Grab is very established in Vietnam. Any form of business which needs a transport to send something or someone or some food from Pt A to Pt B is well covered

Grab car, grab bike, grab shuttle, grab food, grab delivery

Looks like you have no time for HCMC itself.
You might want to remove your very-large signature.

Can share your itinerary?

From there I can give a good gauge

In terms of food... I will suggest to splurge on seafood, crab, clams, prawn etc

It's extremely fresh and affordable (as long as you avoid those fancy fancy restaurants like Ran Bien)

would you also say that 400/500 is enough as well? i’m trying to spend as little as i can haha

$600 over I assume 4 full days. That is $150 a day for the 2 of you, which is sufficient to have 3 good meals a day and other miscellaneous expenses. Even if you want to splurge a few times at a total cost of $200, that leaves you $100 a day- still sufficient. You can bring $600 and decide on the ground then, whether you want to save some of that.

day2 tourings around hcmc, visiting independence palace, war remnants museum and benh thanh market.
day3 mekong delta
day4 cu chi tunnel
day 5 back to sg

Does your 600SGD covers these tours or exclude?

Mekong Delta tour can be potential carrot chop.

The people at My Tho ferry terminal wanna to chop me 100SGD per person for Vn speaking guide and 200sgd per person for English speaking guide.

My local friend managed to negotiate till 500K vnd per person for Vn speaking guide

For the mekong and cu chi tours, just book with Klook. Much safer. They paired with a local tour guide which includes everything, even lunch for full day tours (drinks pay extra to restaurant, but still decent food). At most tip the guide after tour and maybe those boat rowers for mekong delta.

The local guide agency is located just before the Bui Vien Street entrance, right side before crossing the road facing the big signboard.

Change VND there and use VND for all transactions.

Many places, small shops, food stalls, non tourist places in Vietnam, don't accept USD because they know it's very difficult to find money changers.

The "misconception" to use ONLY USD in Vietnam is so 50 years ago

In vietnam, normally they use accept both VND and USD .
somehow find the price shown in usd might be slightly higher compared to using vnd ... For Cambodia most of the places use USD, even for small shops.

Can change some vnd in Singapore in case u need them for taxi etc ...
The rate at Singapore arcade today is about 17k ...
