Please make sure you advise me what kind of rooms you want? Double (Standard) or Twin Bed (Superior)..the number of rooms.. and the date of check in and check out

hey, thanks for the reply.

Yes, it will be my 1st time going. You went vietnam by following tour or F & E?? actually i dont have any area in mind. I am just gathering some info here and do some planning here before going there. Most likely, it will be like a free and easy back packing style of trip with my friends.

About duration? I dont mind going for 2 weeks. My budget is about $1000 for everything. is that possible? I dont expect 5 star hotel either. just a reasonable room will be fine.

Anyway, what is prawn and crab in vietnamese? I have allergy towards them.

Hi, thinking of going HCMC for F&E in apr. Went there before in 2007 sept, and i remember we went to this local market in district 1, near diamond plaza. They sell mostly wholesale stuff... small place but is not Ben thanh market.. any one familiar with the area there?
thinking of going there again to shop but forgot the name of the place....

I just got back from HCMC took up TechAdd's recommendation for Tan Han Long 1 which turned out to be an excellent choice over my others (liberty 3,4, elios, spring) as the hotel was JUST beside the Ben Thanh Market

could drop by during the day for shopping and at nite for more shopping and food =D

rooms are very clean and the big plus is free Wifi in rooms
perhaps the only downside is that the hotel could do with more soundproofing since its so near such a busy area.

I also changed some USD and Dongs in SG
SG i got 1 SGD to 11000 dongs

i got a better rate in HCMC itself at a money changer behind the ben thanh market... 1SGD - 11600.
also got 1 USD to 17000 there. think its just easier to change SGD to Dongs... dont lose out on the currency conversions.
