Hi, i'm going to backpack Hanoi for 10 days next month. I'll following closely to a package online here although i just emailed them to adjust to 9 days timeframe. Since most here are experienced, do you think the package is worth it?

Hi all,

I am going on a 13 days trip to vietnam with a gp of frens for free and easy (backpacking)

Day 1-8 Hanoi region (intend to go sapa, Halong Bay around Hanoi)

Take jetstar from Hanoi to HCM on day 8

Day 9-13 Ho Chi Min region (intend to explore by bus to Nha Trang if time allows)

Any comments or useful tips? thx

Hey, just need to check with you guys

My friends and I are considering going to Vietnam in May over the Vesak weekend.

Any hotel recommendations? Currently its about 3 ~ 4 people, over 6D5N.

Also, we're thinking of flying to HCM, staying maybe 2 nights and then going over to Hanoi. What's the internal airfare like?

u can check the Jet star website for the domestic air fare during that period.. as for the accomodation, i can recommend u Elios :D

Any recommendation of good tour companies in Vietnam for joining GROUP TOUR?

1) Halong Bay 2D/1N
2) Sapa 2D/3N
3) Mekong Delat 2D/1N
4) Cu Chi/Cao Dai 1D

Lavender Hotel is quite a nice and new hotel. I passed by Elios Hotel at the backpacker street. It seems to be okay. When I went to vietnam that time, my first choice was Elios Hotel because it is cheap and decent, but because it was fully booked, i chose Lavender Hotel but it is slightly more ex than Elios Hotel. It is located just directly opposite Ben Thanh Market. Anyway, last dec i found out that this website provide the cheapest for Elios HOtel http://www.hotelscombined.com/City/Saigon.htm?a_aid=12365, if you are on budget, you can check out saigon mini which is only $46/night, it is quite new but location wise may not be so great. Anyway, the cabs in Saigon are really very cheap so you do not have to worry too much! :)

i think Tan Hai Long 1/Elios Hotel is comparatively a better choice compared head to head with Saigon Mini , unfortunately Elios Hotel is always running full..:s22:
