In hcm, you will hardly see a private clinic. But there are lots and lots of pharmacies. And a few hospitals. That means medical is so bad that people treat themselves with drugs from pharmacies.

having lots of pharmacies doesn't mean the quality of health services is bad. they are very similar to france, with pharmacies displaying the green crosses everywhere. this means that unlike singapore, their doctors perform diagnosis only and doesn't make profits from selling us drugs.

Only when they get injured or very serious cases then they go to hospitals. My hotel owner got cancer. Unable to afford treatment, she grew codyceps in her kitchen fridge and somehow, nursed herself back to health. So how good you think the medical in vietnam is?

Saving money is one thing, but never do invasive procedures there. I saw stories of ang mo who did root canel there and things got out of hand.

Can't be codyceps! that's is impossible.

Very interested to know about this too. Care to share the name of the shop?

There are lots of spectacles shops there. You can get your spectacles within 2 hours. They already have the lens of various degrees.. just a matter of cutting them into shape and fitting into the frames.
My frame cost about 400k, and UV lens 200 k. That's about $36.
Don't expect them to have any kind of certifications though.

i believe it's codyceps flower 虫草花
there are many species of codyceps, the expensive ones are those parasitic ones that prey & grow on insects
Well, i don't believe it is codyceps. But she insisted it is. I don't wanna argue with her. Otherwise she will raise my room charges.... Ha ha

There are spec shops around Benh Thanh. I know a spec shop in D1 along Nguyen Trai near the roundabout. They can do everything we can do here in singapore at a fraction of the price.

Own days, a pair of specs cost $175. Over there frame and lens will cost $80 if u choose good frames. Otherwise there are cheaper frames that add up to abt $35 sgd total only.
