I am going for 5 days 16th to 20th Oct, consider too long? Checked the airfares flying in on Thursday is cheaper than Friday. If come back on Sunday also cheaper than Monday which is a PH. Husband ok with 5 days, just relax and eat more viet food.

Any day trip to recommend? No mekong River, I cannot take ferry.

Nikko hotel is over rated and for tourists only. C Est La Vie at Mai House Saigon D3 is much better and only 47sgd. haha its a hidden gem

But i heard from vietnamese friends that there is a Vietnam Buffet Chain that offers good value seafood for only 30 sgd but outside D1

Will try those place you recommend one day :)

You meant Poseidon seafood bbq & hotpot buffet? They have outlets at Thao Dien and SC Vivocity too. With the depreciation of VND, it costs less than 30SGD per pax.

Oh Yes Poseidon. Have you tried? Is it really that good?

I had a very enjoyable time at C Est La Vie for 52sgd, seafood buffet on Fri and Sat nights including lobsters and meaty crabs.

Nope. I don't enjoy buffet. I normally go to Hai San Hoang Gia for live seafood or Sup Bao Ngu Vi Ca Ong Sui for dried seafood (i.e. 佛跳墙).

Where to eat vietnamese bbq in D1 or D3? Those cook on the mesh types, not like thai, korean or Japanese bbq kind.
