have u tried checking out the Addidas retail shops?

heard from frens the genuine addidas items are very cheap there...is it true?

in fact it's more expensive than in singapore. Only when in sales, price can cut 50% cheaper, if not, consider buying in singapore.

Some years ago there is an Adidas retail store at Hai Ba Trung st, now i think there are some more stores around. In Nguyen Trai st there is one...

Hi,

Newbie here to this forum.... 97 pages si bei pai read through all of them. So excuse me!!

4 1st timer adults (actually 3 adults plus a teenager) will be going on the 4 Dec to 7 Dec.

Day 1
Touch down in Ho Chi Minh in the morning so would like a half day city tour straight from the airport before check-in to Hotel in District 1. Afterwhich at own leisure.

Day 2
Cu Chi Tunnel plus?? half day also. Afterwhich at own leisure.

Day 3
Mekong Delta plus?? can be full day!:)

Day 4
Home sweet home.........

So above ok bo!! and any private local reasonable priced tour to recommend?? Of course must eat their local food.... apart from PHO what else.....

If you don't have time to go every place to have special food, I suggest you to go to NGON restaurant (NGON means "delicious") at 138 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia st. Here you can taste almost every specialty of Vietnam.

Hi all,

I'll be in Ho Chi Minh city from Thurs night to Sun afternoon (flight at 14:50) and would love to visit Cu Chi tunnels, Ben Thanh market as well as Da Lat. My plan is to join a half day tour on Fri to visit Cu Chi tunnels and hopefully Ben Thanh market on Sunday morning before my flight (any idea what is the opening hours for Ben Thanh market?).

However, I cant seem to slot in the visit to Da Lat and it seems like day tours start at 08:00 and end at 16:00. I have checked that the only domestic flight timing available for me will be to leave HCMC on Fri 15:25 (arr DaLat at 16:15) and leave DaLat on Sat 16:50 (arr HCMC 17:40). This would be quite risky esp if the day tour does not end on time. Are there other better alternatives for travelling to DaLat from HCMC?

With such limited time, do you think it is worthed it to travel to Da Lat or just stay in HCMC?

Thanks!!

does anyone know if there's internet facilities in Elios?

I am referring to those common room for internet usage for guests, and not those in-room wireless access...

Best to change in Vietnam at the local banks in town.
SG exchange rate around SGD1 = 10200VND
Vietnam town rate around SGD1 = 11300VND

If you don't have time to go every place to have special food, I suggest you to go to NGON restaurant (NGON means "delicious") at 138 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia st. Here you can taste almost every specialty of Vietnam.

Its "QUAN AN NGON" IIRC
I just ate there yesterday afternoon. You will definitely not regret going there for food!
Fantastic food at very reasonable price (pretty inexpensive by SG context) and excellent service.
However it is really super crowded with both locals and tourists at lunch time, so go either by 11am or around 2.30pm to avoid the crowd.

I just came back from a 12 day trip yesterday.
Hanoi keeps raining non-stop and HCMC is blazing hot!
Remember to bring along a small umbrella at all times to shelter against rain and sun.
Hanoi rain really comes and goes suddenly and quickly, I was caught off guard a few times.

As I covered Sapa, Hanoi, Halong Bay, Hoi An, Nha Trang and HCMC, I somehow feel that the friendliness of the locals decreases as I travel southwards.

with a few days to HCMC.. i think u better off skip DaLat.. kinda rush for u lar. if go Dalat at least stay 1 nite leh.. its pretty worthless to spend so much travel time/ $ and den come back..

Alternative u can go mekong delta.. also Benh Thanh market is very diff from the day time n nite time.. at nite.. alot of road side store open.. (Pls try the bbq foods! damn nice n cheap!!)

nobody will care how you wear, sg fashion is conservative by their standards.

btw, am reporting live from Hanoi. Been here since the 1st Nov. Am goin down to HCM tomorrow for 2 days before heading back to Singapore

Weather in Hanoi is pretty fine. 21degrees..going to drop lower for the nxt one month. Raining is definitely not expected. has not been raining for 4days already. The flood has subsided in most areas.

DO wear some cold clothing here in hanoi.

HCM is expected not to be raining too. around 29degrees. but not humid.

You can wear whatever you want..as long as you have clothes on..conservative is a past tense now, come evening, most girls you see at the clubs would rival any girls anywhere in terms of sexiness..:D:D this is not a muslim country ;)
