Can I also enquire on how to get 3G SIM cards at Vietnam?

You can find the Vietnam sim card ( as Viettel, Vinaphone, Beelines, Vinaphone, Vietnammobile...) easily at small shop at all lots of street or in airport, you can ask the airport's staff and they will show you where to buy it at airport

For those who are planning to go to Ho chi Minh, you can consider checking out a beach place nearby called Mui Ne, it's really pretty and you can do kitesurfing there. I visited it last december, details here.

4-5hrs bus ride from HCM. You can check out the white and red sand dunes there. very cool

sapa is mostly hiking. although u can rent a motobike and scoot around.

there is ard 5 to 6 trains from Hanoi to Sapa every night and will reach the train station at around 4-7am in the morning depending on your schedule.

once out of the station u still need to catch a minivan up the hill to sapa town (around 40mins)

first class bed is way more worth it than the second class bed for the train ride. do buy your ticket at the train station and not agency.

I am going with family so do we need to arrange a SAPA tour that include all these train and minivan and guide etc. or is it advisable to do everything ourself and walk around free and easy?

Dear All,

I was quoted these prices for a cruise with Alova Gold Cruise

- Standard tour : 50 USD/pax ( No Ac on boat, basic and small food, small boat - low quality)

- Superior tour : 70 USD/pax ( better boat with Ac, better food) - highly recommend

- Deluxe tour 1: 110USD/pax ( big boat with Ac and bigger room, delicious food, more activities, cooking class included) - highly recommend

May I know if these prices are reasonable? I never knew there were rooms without aircon - sounds terrible with the current weather!

guide is sort of required cos they can show u the way. They are mostly hmong tribes lady who speaks rather good english (despite not having proper education)
agencies in sapa have different hiking routes to cater for your needs (length, strenuous level etc)

for the train i think if you book with the agency, they may charge you 1st class tickets but give u 2nd class beds (I have personally seen it myself, its a common con)

for minivan - the touts will come to you one.

this advise is for flexible travellers..
if you need more certainty i guess its best to book everything together

2. Is it possible to convert SGD in Dong in Singapore ? Yes. Some money changers do carry VND.
3. Any recommendation for Vietnam Sim Card with 3G Connectivity?
4. What we should cover in 3 Days? Cuchi Tunnel half day, Mekong Delta 1 day and some museums. War Remnants museum is highly recommended.
5. Any recoomendations to use any tour service? half day and 1 day tour can follow their tour service. just go to Pham Ngu Lao or Bui Vien St to compare the prices.
6. Any one has booked any tour from SinhTourist website, is it reliable? Cheaper to book at the random agencies at Pham Ngu Lao. They offer the same service essentially.

Thanks =)
