is it better to book a 1/2 day trip to cu chi tunnel from Sinhtourist or just get a cab and go by urself?

Sinhtourist Cu Chi tunnel - 109k vnd.

The journel abt 1.5 hours depend in traffice in city. Just went with them this morning, i felt is reasonable n the guide Tham is funny. He will show and explain to u the things there, but the price does not include admission fees of 90k vnd.
They have morning tour only. Got back to their office at abt 1.45pm. Is the journey that is time comsuming. :)

Dear All,

I was quoted these prices for a cruise with Alova Gold Cruise

- Standard tour : 50 USD/pax ( No Ac on boat, basic and small food, small boat - low quality)

- Superior tour : 70 USD/pax ( better boat with Ac, better food) - highly recommend

- Deluxe tour 1: 110USD/pax ( big boat with Ac and bigger room, delicious food, more activities, cooking class included) - highly recommend

May I know if these prices are reasonable? I never knew there were rooms without aircon - sounds terrible with the current weather!

I was on Glory cruise 2d1n, deluxe room, single supplement. I was quoted usd200 with 2 night hotel stay.
The cooking class taught us how to make viet spring roll. I nv went for the kaya but tje bamboo boat trip. A short 45 mins - 1 hrs ride, hit with rain n all wet. Lol. Suay..
My room, roof drioping water as is raining the whole day on my first day.. suay again.. changed to another room where is near to their kitchen, noisy but is ok abt they busy with their cooking during lunch n dinner..
,
You opt for 70usd, i see the route is almost the same.. just how comfortable the cruise/junck is..

:)

How widely is usd used in Hanoi and sapa? Is it better to use usd or local currency there? will be travel to Hanoi sapa and halong bay

I'll advise not to use USD in Sapa. And Hanoi, generally, do not accept USD. Just use Dong.

And... be careful of the children in Sapa asking you to buy from them. If you have a vnese friend coming along with you. Tell them what you want and do not let the merchants hear you speak english. Once they know you are a tourist, the tendancy of price being jack up is quite high.

USD is accept everywhere. They just convert 20K to USD1 and give you the change in VND. Inside the airport (after chop passport), price is in USD. or 1USD = 22K!

Vietnam is a wonderful country to visit. Really enjoy my recent trips to HaSaHa (Hanoi, Sapa & Halong). :s13:

What jackets do they have in Saigon Square? I suppose that they do not have the entire range there, right? What did you buy in Saigon Square? :)

I not really into north face products, so i not sure about the range of jackets there. But i brought 1 north face backpack at 250.000 dong.

But i not sure why i don't really like to go ben thah market. Especially in the middle whereby seller get really pushy n pulling your arm to see their stuffs. :(
