wooh very expensive
Nic has mentioned before about the termination fee
There are 3 categories of customers
(A) Pioneer customers who had to pay for the modem
This batch of customers do not need to pay the termination fee
(B) Customers who did not pay for the modem and signed-up/recontracted before 2017
This batch of customers do not need to pay the termination fee when they recontract in 2017 and later, but need to pay the termination fee if terminate
(C) Customers from 2017 and later
This batch of customers have to pay a registration fee, but no need to pay termination fee
So, depending on which category you belong to, the termination fee may be applicable or non-applicable
Yes, termination fee is SGD126 paid to NetLinkTrust. VQ will collect the SGD126 and pay to NetLinkTrust
Any 2gbps users using wifi mesh? I'm deciding between the singtel one or a neat gear orbit. I have ever access to both...

I can get the sing mesh device cos I'm still a singtel subscriber.singtel wifi mesh is only available to singtel customers, though you can get it off carousell at a more expensive price..
Netgear Orbi may be quite popular now, but Linksys Velop is kinda equivalent as well. I know Velop can daisy chain but not too sure of Orbi, cos never state anything, i presume it does..

Velop is out cos can't set as AP. Perhaps I should look at orbi...

I checked out user forums and the manual. The only feature avail is bridge mode and even that is half baked.Who says velop cannot function as AP? Lol.
Anyway, mesh systems no one is using as a solitary node..
Both Singtel Wifi mesh and velop can support daisy chain, at least both are confirmed. For orbi, you will have one router node and one satellite node while velop all nodes are the same..

You're saying the velop can be configured as AP.? Then I'd be more interested in that cos of ethernet backhaul but I can't find any official documentation to support that. =/.
If I do get any solution, I'll get the starter kits with one router (to set in AP mode) and one satellite.

I think you misunderstood the definition of a mesh node on ethernet back haul. That is not equivalent to an access point.
In this, velop does not support ethernet backhaul and currently, only I've seen Singtel Wifi mesh being able to do that as of now, though the current firmware in the circulation does not support. An update is coming along.
Even for orbi, I don't think it supports ethernet backhaul if I'm not wrong.
For velop, I can only advise more when I get the product next week.. I'll be doing up a mini review on it soon, but paper review and real life review will likely be up soon for those local media bloggers like Lester Chan..
Just outta curiosity........are there actually any happy vq users here? LOL
Maybe me? Very few problems so far with the exception of the sole major outage few months back. But I think it's likely due to a combination of exchange (JW) + equipment that makes it less problematic (Zhone 2301 and AC68U).
Ps:Just asked a friend staying in the East whom I recommended VQ to two years ago out of curiosity, apparently no issues there (he literally said very good when I asked for his opinion) and he just recontracted.
It's disconcerting for me to hear others here have issues though; there are probably some discrepancies in reliability across the board that needs to be ironed out.

No issues of late as well. I do find asus router firmware kind of buggy with VQ when I was using it previously but had been rock steady with the MT CCR1009 ever since. Go figure.![]()
great to hear you guys have been having positive experiences. would you mind sharing some speedtest screenshots as well as what plan you are on?
