Hope you are okay with reduction in floor to ceiling height. HDB ceiling is already very low. You will make it worse by overlaying tiles.
LOL. How thick are the tiles? if you grow taller by 0.5cm, will living in a HDB be worse for you?

no one installs vinyl flooring in the kitchen
haha....a lot of people lay vinyl flooring.... some even overlay over tiles.

ignore the costs....tiles are too troublesome to replace.
recent weather is cold as 22... a lot of old tiles popping.

good luck to you if you are going to overlay vinyl flooring in the kitchen.

and if your tiles under the vinyl flooring pops out too, good luck to your pocket too.

wondering if anyone has comparison or comment for either one between Floor xpert LURF (LOC range) vs Xingfloors Floorlux LVT range? was given this 2 to choose from and will be doing self levelling.

xingfloors feels thicker and rigid while floorxpert feels more flexible but thinner. trust that both are reputable brands, but any advice against one over another?

What's the market rate for LURF these days? ID quoted me $8+ psf inclusive of skirting. Is that too much?
Also curious abt this. My ID (TIL) recommended LURF LOC range, and no need to further upgrade to LUX or their other ranges. Downside is only 10 types to choose from.

Anyone know what’s the ongoing market rate? Thx in adv

i got quoted $7.50 about 3-4 mths ago. LOC range very limited choices and as usual - anything nicer/better need to top up more

Thanks. I just tabulated, I think my ID provided quote is also SGD7.5 psf. for LOC range. Did not ask for quote to top up as ID said LOC range already ex/good enough. But the more ex ones do indeed look/feel nicer to me (at least the samples).

@boombastick91 did you use LOC in the end? Saw on other vinyl thread that you were asking a few months back and choosing btw this or xingfloors? Any feedback?

i did not. we ended up choosing xingfloor mainly due to their color suited our theme better, can't give any feedback yet as still have not moved in.

also xingfloor slightly thicker than LOC (5mm vs 4mm+) if i am not wrong. but i guess the <1mm doesn't really matter for residential use.

no texture? wouldn't scratches (inevitable, as vinyl is basically a form of plastic) be very noticeable?

hi all, may I ask if we already did self leveling for vinyl, should the floor be completely flat? we just laid our vinyl and realised even though the door entrance trimming is flat, but the silicon below the trimming is uneven. is this normal? thank you

Not as slippery as compared to HDB tiles. Check out Foriegn Unique Marketing.

My vinyl done by them, in fact the installers are installing now.

Not related or working for them. But must say their service is good. Personally attended by the boss himself, he also personally dropped by to do on site measurement. Nice, humble and hands-on Uncle.

No fancy showroom or whatsoever, if you want to see samples, need to pop by their warehouse cum office in Loyang.

No need to ask for his recommendations on colours and designs, his standard answers will be “I also dun know what you like”. Haha
Hi there,

How's the vinyl from Foreign unique marketing holding up after 6 years? Which vinyl collection did you get from them?
